I wonder if someone has a clue about those two values:

in 2014 the average desktop conversion rate was 4.3 and it might have grown a little
what is the conversion rate on mobile traffic?

You may face a huge difference in ROI in mobile and desktop. With the changing scenario of online marketing, more and more customers are coming online from their smartphones rather than desktop. So, it is obvious that mobile ROI will be more than desktop ROI.

Not into Mobile but I am happy with the results I am getting on Desktop traffic. But, the key here is to keep both the options wherein you will receive traffic from both mobile and desktop.

It is actually not that obvious. Most smart phones sold are more low budget than high end. People having those phones are struggling to meet the Carriers fee.

Therefore there might be more traffic but those will not translate into sales. ROI stands for Return on Investment not on raise your initial Visitor count. ;)

You're wrong on this. People are increasingly using their cell phones to navigate online and when they find something that they want to buy, they do not leave their mobiles to go to their desktop and make the purchase. In my experience the only reason why Mobile ROI is still below the Desktop ROI is because most websites that host online stores are not properly customized to receive orders through mobiles.

The most common errors are: 1. sites that load slowly on mobile phones, 2. online stores that the purchase can not be made without errors or problems via mobile phones.

This is a chance, too, for ppl like me who sell this kind of services -website optimization for mobiles ;)
