Landing Page Builders
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hoping someone can help me here.

I've been looking at landing page software and it appears as of around September 2015 its actually impossible to find an honest review of any of the software online, huge amounts of money has been poured into advertising by different people to push their product as being the one and only choice and I wanted some opinions.

The software is only going to be used to do some basic lead capture from Google Ads, Facebook, Linkedin etc.

Pretty much want a catchy advert, some where for them to see a bit about the product and they then submit a name and email address / telephone number. All really really standard stuff.

Tested Lead Pages and their website is terrible and slow, did testing using one of their templates and it didnt really convert well, but that might be due to the advert vs the landing page etc.

Have used Unbounde before and it was decent.

My main interest is coming at the Wordpress page builders which seem to have come on leaps and bounds recently:

Thrive
OptimizePress
Beaverbuilder

These guys seem to be spending a LOT of money on advertising, but cannot really see anyone who is using them successfully who isn't being paid or an affiliate!

Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? What did you end up doing and how happy are you?

I've even considered doing simple HTML pages and then using a product like Hotjar (or an opensource alternative) to monitor clicks etc. but I dont know if I'll end up putting lots of time into this and then not being happy with the results.

Any advice or experiences that can be shared around this would be great!

I use OptimizePress and Simple Lead Capture for my landing pages. I promote my website on FB IG an YT and I don't have any problems with compliance or tracking my leads.

Hotjar is a good one to use...

Let me know if you want to get on a live call and we can chat more about it.

Thrive Leads is good, I use it on my sites. It has decent features and more than enough for most web owners who are looking to build an email list.

Just jump in buy one of the 3 you listed (you cant really go wrong with any of them) because you have wasted 2 years NOT building a list worrying too much on what tool to use

Stop thinking....
When you spend all of your time thinking about what could go wrong and you think about the what if's you will talk yourself out of doing something great.
In my past I spent more time thinking about it then actually doing it. I would come up with all of these dooms day scenarios that never happened, but I created them in my mind.
Your brain will play tricks on you, so learn to shut that brain up :)
The next time you catch yourself overthinking just do it anyways and you will see that everything will work out just like it should.
Just start....
Don’t try to have all the answers before you start or expect your life will change over night.
Just start....
It is similar we drive car in the night. We see only distance our lights show us, but as we move forward we see additional part of the road every second along the way….
Successful people always do it this way.
Start now and stop stopping…

Hi latic,

I get what you are saying, hard to find an honest review, or opinion because most are just pushing their affiliate link offer.

I will share with you my views based on my experience with these tools from the perspective of an advertising agency that is just looking for the best possible results for clients.

I have used and continue to use most of the Landing Page platform tools like Instapage, Unbounce, Leadpages, Clickfunnels, etc. and can say the favorite among my agency team is by far and away Instapage. It is definitely "Best-in-Class" as a landing page creator/editor.

We can produce fresh new landing page designs at a faster pace than any other tool that we have every used. While it comes with lots of free templates, and many more professionally designed templates available on Themeforest, we have had our best results by creating landing pages from scratch using this excellent tool.

Bare in mind that each of these platforms have their own unique features and advantages, you need to consider the type of Landing Pages you need to select the tool that works the best for you. Clickfunnels is great if you need a tool to build sales funnels, however, if you are using it for lead generation, Instapage is the clear winner, in my opinion, for lead generation campaigns. Especially if you want beautiful landers that really convert well.

Instapage has the flexibility of Unbounce, but with a far superior user interface and an editor that is simply best in class. If rapid design iteration are a priority then Instapage is they way to go.

If you are looking for the lowest cost platform, and have no intention of designing your own pages then Leadpages might be your best choice for low cost and lots of pre-built templates included. Not so great though if you want to make your own designs, Leadpages lacks flexibility in design and layout options, even though they have improved those limitations they still have a long way to go to get to level of Unbounce or Instapage.

All of these platforms have Wordpress plugins that make it a breeze to publish your pages on your Wordpress CMS.

If you are looking strictly for a WP plugin, not a real Landing Page platform, then Thrive Leads for Wordpress might be a good choice, it is really just a form creator tool that lets you create web forms for insertion into your pages, however the same maker has a plugin named Thrive Architect which is a real click to edit page creator tool. As a plus it has a one-time fee, rather than a monthly subscription, however it is on a per site license so you need to purchase a license for each website that you use it on, whereas the hosted platforms like Leadpages, Unbounce, Instapge, etc, allow you to use the platform on as many websites as you like without charging you for each website.

So the bottom line is that you need to decide which platform fits your business model the best. If you have a very limited number of websites and they are all exclusively Wordpress sites then Thrive Architecture might be you best option, if you plan to do many websites, and want the best platform to manage all you landing pages within a single tool then Instapage would be my first choice.

That's my opinion based on working with many of these tools, in high production environments, with many clients over the past decade.

HTH,

Don Burk

You can also use Landingi.com. They are now. One of the best things you can do is subscribe to www.appsumo.com newsletter. They bring these sweet deals for you and you can buy them there.
I bought Landingi from there. You can also try Unbouce.com as well. I use both of them.

I've been loving the new Thrive Architect after they upgraded from Thrive Content Builder. The UI is way better now, and the content they produce on their blog is really good. One of the few email lists I'm on that I actually enjoy receiving. I can't speak to their other products like Thrive Leads, Quiz, etc... but I'll probably be a lifer unless something comes out that's leaps-and-bounds better.

If you are CPC marketer then give a try with Instapage.

If you are serious to conversation... then use Clickfunnel

You can hardly go wrong with any of the products you mentioned. Even Getresponse and Sendlane, autoresponders, will give you landing pages.

Perhaps the problem isn't the landing page but the offer or the target market. Even a crappy landing page will convert people if the offer is compelling and you are attracting the right market.

The reverse is not true. No matter how many bells, whistles and clean lines you have on a landing page, if the offer isn't compelling no one will exchange their e-mail with you.

I've used Clickfunnels and Optimizepress. Both are incredible products, each doing their own thing well. One problem is that most people drive them in first gear and don't take the time to really master all of the features.

That's where a lot of the value added comes in to others in the online space.

OP is a theme as well if you want to build a website and it comes with the ability to build a membership site.

Honestly, as everyone here is saying, just pick one and master it.

Creating your own HTML pages is not going to get you closer to your goal when so many good products already exist in the market. You should spend your time building a good sales funnel, not creating landing pages from scratch.

Hi hadyn,

Doesn't that preclude the main advantages of a landing page builder? For example, integrated A/B split testing and rapid design iteration. Not to mention a ton of 3rd party integrations that make the development less costly and much much faster to implement.

There is no reason to not use a web design service that design's templates for your preferred landing page system, if you prefer, that way you have the best of both, right?

Personally, I do design in-house because many typical web designers have little marketing expertise, and often prioritize aesthetics over UX. My in-house LP designers are trained and supervised by UX and marketing experts.

We design first for value proposition testing and conversion optimization. Aesthetics are secondary icing on the cake, and we have no trouble getting this all from a flexible platform like Instapage, or Unbounce.

You can get all of this without using a LP platform, it just takes more resources and time to end up with the exact same results. LP platforms are all about speeding up the process.

HTH,

Don Burk

I use Instabuilder - its very good because it
1 - One time paymeant
2 - You can install unlimited time
3 - No limits of page views
4 - Easy to use

But I use Pagewiz too, because it can count click on click to call and split test this click to call conversion rate - so I have also account on Pagewiz

Im surprised Landing Lion isnt mentioned in this thread. Check em out.

I had an issue embedding an affiliate form but I shrugged it off and sort of gave up since I was just testing out the platform. Not a day later I got an email from them offering to hop on a call with one of their developers to figure out the issue. Really cool people over there who make sure they take care of their clients and potential clients. Not to mention the platform kicks ass.

Tons of lead capture and built in tracking features, including recordings of every visit to your landing pages.... if you haven't utilized something like this, you definitely need to give it a whirl.

Contente is also a landing page builder worth trying. I got bored with InstaPage, Wix or other popular site builders, and wanted to try something new. You can test their editor without registration. They got AMP (which UnBounce does not have and InstaPage got in their most expensive option), everything in one place so page developent is really fast), customizable forms and mail templates and many nice features that i did not find in other builders. Tell me how do you feel about it, and what do you think about new LP builders? Are they needed when we have such big softwares already on market?

The digital marketing challenge is now very much to acquire qualified leads and visitors to maximize the conversion of visitors into sales (or prospects).

To do that, for several years digital marketers have been using the “landing page” concept.

A landing page is a website page specially designed to target a particular type of visitor according to specific demographic, interests and buying behavior criteria. It aims to attract leads as effectively as possible (in B2B and B2C modes) and to maximize the conversion of visitors into buyers.Unbounce and LeadPages are the two best landing page builders.
