For those of you that are paying for traffic, how much are you paying for each subscriber? And what is the traffic source? And niche? I'm in the prepping/survival niche so answers from this niche will be most helpful for me, but I'm also curious how much people pay per subscriber in other niches too. |

I'm in the fitness niche. I pay around 0.32-0.55$ per subs. But, I have good targeting (big youtube channel and list that help me target the right people). My squeeze page is converting around 23 to 27%. So, it works quite well |

As a general rule ( for me )... I want to break even in most cases on the cost to get a subs, vs the first product purchase. IE, You run a campaign you get 100 subs at $2.00 each and you earn $200 from sales. This makes your on boarding efforts a break even venture... nothing wrong with that. Depending on your conversion rate, we will say 10% that means you would have to make $20 each from 10 of the new subs. The remaining 90 may not buy on the first go round, but could be warmed up and purchase at a later point... Hence the term "The money is in the list" And from there the possibiity of repeat purchasing from the list creates "The Value" of the list, and the turn to profit. There really is no such thing as to much or less than what ever someone else is doing.. its all in the math of YOUR EFFORTS. As long as you are at worst breaking even at the end of the day you are on the right track. | |

I think I've spent about $120 on ads on the display network, and the last $50 of that was spent on my best performing ads. That $50 only got me 9 subscribers. So $60 (hosting, autoresponder, internet service) plus $50 is $160 and I only made $45 back. So at this point I'm losing money. I'm going to try split testing landing pages, but I was also wondering if I'm paying too much for traffic. I thought $2 - $3 per subscriber seemed kind of high. | |

but if you are spending $2.00 per sub and you spent $50.00.. that means your offer was in front of 25 people.. BUT you landed 9 of them.. you have a 36% conversion rate. and then I am guessing 1 of the 9 bought.. hence the $45.00 or about a 10% conversion at the point of sale... The numbers are there, and sure you may be able to gain a bit more.. but will it be enough? not so sure but worth a try. I would say you have 2 options... increase the price OR find a better paying offer. depending on your situation. By all means try facebook ads. should be a lower cost per sub for sure, but in the end I dont think your conversion stats will be as good, and I would imagine in the end less upfront will in the end cost more per sub. ( just a guess ) In terms of CRO the truth is you simply do not have enough data to do anything right now... the math as it were is in your favor at this point, and things look good. Its when you get into the 100 sub range that you need to start paying attention to the data.. And even that is kinda a starting point. I regulary test campaigns to 1000 or even 5000 what I call frontals... ( people seeing the offer to click to your squeeze page ) and right now you are at 25 basically. If cost is a concern I can understand your concern.. but you need to try to distance yourself from the expense and understand the process.. but if you cant afford the process well thats a whole other ball game. | |

from your numbers I'd start splittesting the landing page and try to get the signups up to 20% or more. Also if only 9 confirmed the subscription you should work on that. I guess they only get the free ebook after confirming? if so do you tell them? |

Do this: 1) Turn confirmed opt in OFF. 2) Put tracking pixel on Thank You Page. 3) Find out what clicks convert to subscribers. 4) Trim keywords that were lots of clicks, no subs. 5) Work on Opt-in conversion. P.S. In most niches, for most barely competent emailers, a cost of $ 2 to $ 3 per sub is good enough to profit on. You can work to barely competent quickly. Maybe even get past that. The quickest way to get competent - find a couple of the Click Bank emailers and get on their list. They are barely competent. They pay the aff 75% so they can get the buyer sub. Some of 'em know what to do. Look in the fitness space. Those have to mail to stay on top. |

Well, my thank you page says that their book is on the way, and that in the next few five minutes they will receive an email from me with a link to download the book. And then I give them a video that they can check out while they're waiting for that email. The video is a sales video to one of the affiliate products that I'm promoting. So yes I do tell them. I did take another look at my confirmation email and it says: "Thanks for your interest in my ebook. Before I can send you your free ebook, I need you to quickly confirm your email address for me. Click the link below to confirm your email, and you'll be able to grab that free ebook right away." While I do have my name and web address at the bottom of the confirmation email, I didn't state the name of the book. That could be one reason why some of them are not confirming their subscription, because if they come back to the email at a latter time they might not know what it's about. If I state the name of the book again it might jog their memory. So I'm glade you mentioned this, I will change that for sure.
I have been told it's better to have a double opt in because some people will put in fake information just to try get the free gift.
I do have tracking set up on my thank you page, though not a pixel, but google adwords tracking.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean, find out what webpages my ads are showing on and which ones are getting the clicks? I can do that, but I was told it's probably too early for me at this point to know which webpages to drop. I was told to make sure I get more than 10 click and no sign up before removing my ad from a webpage.
Keywords in my ad? I did manage to narrow it down to three ads that performed the best.
That's nice to hear, then I guess I could be doing worse. It sounds like I need to fix my confirmation email and split test a couple landing pages. I guess there's no way to split test a landing page on the display network is there? I assume I will just have to send them to one landing page for several days and then switch to the other landing page for several days and compare the results. One thing I'm concerned about is that my emails go out every two to three days. Which means it will take me a little longer to make sells. Which makes it harder to tell if my ads are paying off. | |||||||

Basically each and every niche is different and so that the pricing also differs. Based on your niche this will work.

You can not able to guess the accurate pricing. Because each and every nice will have the different pricing list.
