What is Your Average Conversion Rate?

Hi,

Years ago, the industry's average conversion rate was 1% for targeted traffic; however, this is obviously no longer the case. Just like how people became banner blind, they now are product blind as well.

It seems that the best conversion rates are from email subscribers; not sending traffic to the offer itself.

What are your conversion rates?

Yes you're right the best conversion rates come from people who have a high quality list.
Direct linking to an offer still works if you send very targeted traffic, but as you pointed out the conversion rates have dropped tremendously.

That's why retargeting has become so popular. Very few people buy an offer the first time they visit a sales page. With the abundance of similar products around, most people check for reviews first. That's why setting up retargeting campaigns to drive people back to your offer after they have done their research is crucial to increase conversion rates.

The conversion rate average really depends on the offer and the niche, so that's really hard to answer... For Wso's i get about 5% average i guess. For stand alone products it's lower due to the lack of "real" social proof. (testimonials don't work as good as they used to). But with retargeting campaigns i can easily get that up.

Ask yourself why they AREN'T converting! Here are questions to ask Why They Ain’t Buyin’:

  1. Do they have the money you are asking them to pay?
  2. Do they want what you are selling? Do they understand the value?
  3. Do they TRUST what you’re saying?
  4. Do they even know what you are talking about? Sometimes we can't look beyond but people might not get the message you are trying to convey.
  5. Do they know what to do next? Is there a clear call to action? Do they understand what they’re supposed to do? These are questions to ask so you can sky rocket conversion rates. You shouldn't worry about what the average rate is but you should test, test, test because what might work for others may or may not work for you.

The difficult part is using retargeting in the dating niche. There really aren't networks that do that for this niche.

Re: What is Your Average Conversion Rate?

1% in the past? For what exactly?

Ecommerce, Affiliate offers, lead generation, direct sales, and so onnnn.... have different average conversions all the time. Last time I checked ecommerces were converting at 1-3% on average with US search traffic. Well, at the same time one of my ecomerce projects was converting at 9%+ with the same kind of traffic.

Where do you read such data? Don't trust everything on the Internet. Most of these numbers will be incredibly incorrect. You know... 73% of the numbers on statistics on the Internet are made up ;)

Keep on looking your numbers, discuss with colleges in similar niches. Don't trust numbers people claim are average.

Just 1 more example - Many times I see offers in CPA networks that have $0.08 EPC, but when I try it, the EPC goes to $1+. And that's the case with many other affiliates. Just because lots of people sent bad traffic and it didnt convert for them, doesn't mean these are the average numbers...
