Landing Page Questions I'm designing a local lead capturing website. The site is for a local painter. This is not something that is needed immediately like a plumber, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to capture the maximum number of leads. My thoughts are to have a static slider with a video that auto plays & a lead capture form beside the video that gets their name, email & phone number. Also, there will be a call us now at xxx-xxx-xxxx (local number) at the top of the page. The purpose is to generate calls. The traffic will be solely from organic search results for something like "painter in city." Do you guys think this is the proper way to go about a landing page for this purpose? Thanks |
Re: Landing Page Questions I think the service is more immediate than you think. Think in terms of the real estate market. what is suggested when going to place your house on the market? or better yet. you just bought a house that is a boring beige ha ha ( they will want paint before they move in ) you might consider coming up with a marketing / information piece on why you need to paint your house. be it the outside - to protect your investment. to the inside, to bring a bit of color into your life, or to increase the value of your home. The idea is to speak the language of your prospect. So to throw in the thoughts that would start such a search in the first place would place you ahead of the painters competiton I am sure |
Re: Landing Page Questions Sounds like a solid plan. I'd recommend some text to accompany the video. I'm a writer though, so maybe I'm partial. If the site has yet to go live, I'd even recommend starting with a text-only version. It will presumably lower your development costs, so you can determine your profitable keywords prior to sinking a lot of money into it. |

Re: Landing Page Questions My advice would be: "Search the world and steal the best", then test. Do a little bit of James Bond work to find out what others in the same industry are doing in other countries, and then pick the best elements to use as your starting point. Don't stop there test every element to make sure your it is working for you. |
Re: Landing Page Questions Think about the conversation going on in the mind of someone looking for a painter. What is the first thing they would do when thinking about getting something painted? This is where you want to hit them. I would guess before people decide yes or not they would first want to know how much it is going to cost them. So probably the best lead capture would be some type of free quote service or a short report on how to pick the best painter, etc. |
Re: Landing Page Questions your all post is informative thanks for sharing. |
Re: Landing Page Questions Agree with Will. What question is the prospect going to ask first? What are the best paint colors for my living room? If you are going to get some painting done, what process would you take? Ask those top 5 questions, answer them and create a lead mag with that and an offer to speak to them personally about their choice with a "good" deal if they decide to choose you. If not, they still have info on the goods. And yes that is lead magnet stuff. In terms of design, you can have your pretty stuff (not my choice) as long as the call to action is clear and your headline is visible. MMMake it happen |
