I am working on some landing pages and have been researching "best examples" - it's one of those things that for each product I think you have to try and also, different countries and markets have different results. Does anybody have any successful formula's or examples they have implemented and seen a difference with? I'm sketching some wireframes - and I know for different markets like China etc different things work there I would love to know what people have noticed and worked for them |

Hi umarsalmandotcom, There are literally thousands of things you can do to optimize conversions on a landing page. Certainly not all of them work for every situation, so a list of best practices should be considered a starting point for your testing, but never the ending point. Optimization is a process, not a practice. Copying "best examples", and assuming you have done the best is not "optimization", it is simply following an example. The optimization process begins when you start testing by splitting the traffic between two or more versions of a page and measuring the results to find which performs better and then more testing to learn and validate the reason why a particular version performed better than another. The goal of testing is to learn why one thing works better than another for your particular offer. Sometimes you discover a transferable principle that can be applied to other landing pages, but I have also discovered that following best practices is not always the best practice. Every situation is different, and that is why you need to test every assumption, every time. |

It would be useful if you could clarify the kind of page we are talking about here. A "landing page" can mean anything. What is the goal of the landing page? Giveaway a free ebook? Sell a high ticket item? Sell a service? Also how to do you intend to drive traffic to the page? Cold traffic? Email traffic? Paid traffic? affiliate traffic? Good luck Peekay |

Thanks for the reply guys, will take comments into thought Peekay, it's actually a different product to the normal one's here I guess. It's an Educational Programme, aimed at a specific market - parents have the funds to send their students abroad For example, a typical 1 year programme is $40k mark - usually it's a programme for 3-4 years So it's quite specific in the type of audience we are trying to attract/catch and get more leads from landing pages The goal is to get them to order a free brochure, or to get their names and email without them going away from the page Traffic mainly comes from Paid and Affiliate |
