Say there's someone who wants to work with me... Say this person runs a direct response blog and they want me to write 1000 to 3000+ word blog posts. How much should I charge?

How much would you charge? Figuring out this whole billing thing....

This is not a question about copywriting. People here do not write blog posts. We write copy.

Are the blog posts supposed to be sales copy or plain content?

If sales copy, determine the value you bring to the table and charge accordingly. If content, determine how much your time is worth to you.

The blog posts are sales copy. Sorry, didn't clarify this. I didn't mean blog posts as in writing out little pieces of content. I'm talking stuff that gets opt-ins/ sales etc.

If it's a 'direct response' blog, then you charge by potential results. But like Alex said, if it's content, you'll likely have a hard time getting more than $300 per blog.

This is a great opportunity for you to sell them on the potential results (aka ROI.)

Well, what are your rates? Assign an hourly rate to yourself, then calculate how long you think it will take you to write it.

Depending on how much money they can make from your posts, you should have no problem charging several hundred – especially if they're 3,000 words long.

I regularly charge $300+ for my blog posts since they're not just content, they're strategic, and they tend to be longer than the standard 500 words.

It's been a while since I wrote anything that short, but according to Bob Bly's A Guide to Freelance Copywriting Fees, the going rate for blog articles is $250 to $500 per post.

Of course, my copy is from 2010 so rates may have changed.
