Please critique my sales website...

Hi,

I have been operating YourCityGuide.net - Local Portals - Business Directory Home Business Opportunities. Work at Home Based Businesses! for about 6 years...i've recently redesigned the website and will be doing some heavy marketing in the near future. Being the programmer and designer, I know my product well, MAYBE TOO WELL! I want to get some feedback as to what i can do to improve sales % to the visitors to my site. Should i set up an autoresponder for a product like this? Should I display the prices so prominently or should I advertise it as a special rate? Should I simplify my product description and features for my visitors more?

I'm a great designer/programmer, but just getting serous and learning about marketing. Any criticism or advise is welcomed.

    OK, I'll give you a thought or two. First of all the site is very busy and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to read first or what to do. I would simplify it a lot and give just one thing for someone to do when they are on the site.

    Yes, you should capture people's names and contact info. Truly, even if you got a 5% buying rate (which would be really hard to do) you will still have 95% of your visitors leaving your site. So, yes, start getting people to sign up for something so you can repetitively contact them.

    Lastly, you start with information on how they can update the site and other details but they don't even know what they get yet. I would move this section below closer to the top.
