Perry Belcher The World's Greatest Copywriter?

Hey,

Ryan Deiss just proclaimed that Perry Belcher is "The world's greatest copywriter"

What'cha think????

Here's the blurb:

"We just released the official schedule for Traffic & Conversion Summit 2015 (and it's good!):

Traffic & Conversion Summit 2015 San Diego, CA

It's absolutely jam-packed with experts sharing their tested-and-proven strategies to help you make 2015 your best year ever.

See the full schedule here:
Traffic & Conversion Summit 2015 San Diego, CA

This year you'll hear from people like:

* Ryan Deiss (Hey, that's me!)
* Perry Belcher (The world's greatest living copywriter)
* Daymond John (CEO, FUBU & Shark Branding, TV Personality on ABC's Shark Tank)

...and many more "BIG" names you'll recognize, plus many you won't recognize (but you definitely won't forget them once you hear what they share)."

Lincoln was such a forward thinker, I don't even think they had flat-screen TV's back then...

Anyway, Perry's really good, but is he the best in the world? We could go around in circles on that for weeks and never come up with a concrete answer.... /shrug

Lol well if anyone else is going to the Traffic & Conversion Summit net month, we can trap him in the hallway and demand to know how they dare bill him as the greatest.

To be fair, his and Ryan's company does legitimately do tens of millions in sales of their own products every year, and countless millions more for their clients, so based on financial performance alone, he's certainly up there.

Anyways, I bought my ticket for the conference a while ago, am super stoked for the event, and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the "world's greatest" reveals.

Ryan also said this in The Machine course.

Perry Belcher has a 21 sales letter formula that many follow.

Plus, if I remember correctly, he has sold over $100 million dollar products through the Internet. And, if you go through Digital Marketer's email course, where they charged $1k for attendees, you will see Perry Belcher sharing his secrets on email copywriting.

Add to it the fact that this company sends millions of emails every month and does dozens of promotions, which I believe Perry is a part of, I am pretty sure that man knows his stuff.

(Oh boy, I sound like a fanboy)

Now, is he the "world's greatest?" Probably...

... just like my mom thinks I am the world's best son!

If it was any other major copywriter on the event, he would have taken the spot.

As far as I'm concerned, Clayton Makepeace is or was the best copywriter in the world. He works in a rather specific niche (financial) but income wise, he was the best copywriter for years. The fact that he works exclusively with companies like Boardroom helps though.

Ryan Deiss was once a credible authority in this field. After the tenth email with _____ (replace with blogging, sales letters, PPC, SEO, etc) is dead, I've unsubscribed.

It's pretty widely accepted that Gary B. is the greatest living copywriter....at least it is in the circles I travel.

Irrespective of the abilities of Perry, I don't think that Ryan is making an
unbiased statement since he is being promoted in his marketing material.

It's much like me saying that my wife is the greatest wife in world (and she is)
but I really don't want anyone else to go testing that one out.

  • Ryan Deiss and Perry Belcher are partners (or at least work on a lot of stuff together).

Ryan's statement is obvs. not going to be unbiased.

Greatest ever? Who cares? Will the event spit out some valuable golden nuggets? Yes. Which is why I'm going.

When Belcher generates sales in the billions like Makepeace has done, then Deiss may have an arguable position but until then....a lot of hot air, fluff, hype, etc. Deiss' self-aggrandizing hyperbole is certainly not based on any metrics he'd like to put on the table for everyone to see.

I just looked at the lineup, 'cause I was interested in seeing why they are showing as sold out.

Note to self: get assistant that finds out about these things before the early bird deadline.

Some big names, and I'm sure there will be some golden nuggets.

You know what struck me? Only one woman on that panel.

That shit's gonna change. Just you watch.

Lol well they're not exactly leaving women out of the fold; they just sent out an "unofficial before and after hours" itinerary to those of us who already got our tickets and it includes this women-only event:

OFFICIAL EVENT #3: 1st Annual Women's Business Breakfast
      Wednesday Morning, February 18th from 7:00am - 8:00am
Sorry fellas this one is just for the ladies! CALLING ALL LADIES (or at least the first 100 to show up...) You're cordially invited to join Keren Kang of "Hawk Group Media" (Digital Marketer's sister company) as she hosts a private breakfast for Women in Business.
This should be a great time to get together, have a nice breakfast and talk about the future of your businesses... without being interrupted by us guys.

I don't think they're leaving out women at all. Trust me, I'm not a militant feminist by a long shot.

I just look at that lineup and see the women experts are a pitiful percentage of the total. But no worries, my friend - I'm workin' on changing that. I'm sure Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero and other lady copywriters are too!
