"Poopouri" ad -- nicely done!

I was a little disgusted, but watched it all the way through. Must've been a hard subject to write copy for -- but I think they nailed it.

I laughed the whole time... I can't believe this is a real product!

I sort of want to try it out now. And if they can get a 21 year old Male interested I'd say they did a damn good job.

I looked up the Gender demographic for the product's site, and it was overwhelmingly female. Surprised me, because in my experience most women I've met over the years don't think "poop jokes" are the least bit funny.

Good reminder to test gender when running ads... no matter what my preconceived notions are.

Hmm... I made the opposite assumption. But I never took into consideration poop jokes could be offensive to women. Makes sense.

Maybe they think it is funny, but don't want to admit it because it isn't classy or something.

LOL some like to pretend they literally do NOT poop.

Some of us tell so many poop jokes our significant others get squeamish. Like Alex said, assumptions aren't always the market reality. That's why research and testing is important!

          EDITED TO ADD:
If you're a fan of Cards Against Humanity, one of my favorite cards is "Pooping back and forth...forever."

I don't know what the hell it means, but thinking about it makes me laugh. That card tends to win with me whenver it's played. Also, "Balls." and "BATMAN!!!"

I loved that commercial! I couldn't believe it was a real product either. My wife even loved it she shared it across her facebook. When I owned my plumbing company one of my best campaigns was a checklist that I titled S.H.I.T. Happens.

Nicely done faq too -- Frequently Asked Questions | Poo~Pourri... Same humorous tone...

Faqs are new frontier for copywriters... Great opportunity for both "sell copy" and SEO...

I've been using FAQs in copy since 2008... and they were in use before then.

So much for the "new frontier", eh?

Hmm... I'd give you points for that as a marketer ... but I gotta revoke them seeing as you're "surprised" that the demographic for this product is overwhelmingly female.

        Like, "duh"...

Obvious psychosocial insights should've easily trumped your experience with poop jokes on the singles scene.

We already knew that you're not a copywriter, but you're "come back" reveals you're also not a marketer who runs ads.

People who runs ads are quite open about their instincts... and know not to trust them.

It's "your" not "you're," Mr. Copywriter.

(Maybe you should brush up on plain ol' writing, dude... What kind of copywriter makes that sort of mistake in a post insulting someone else's writing chops? )

What's funny is my girlfriend is the one who told
me about this product a couple months ago.

She was at her cousins house (female) and before
my girlfriend went to use the restroom, her cousin
told her to spray the toilet first.

To make the long story short, my girlfriend literally
called me and told me how great it worked... I have two
bottles in the bathroom as we speak.

I'm not surprised that women would be the bigger demographic
for this product. It makes a ton of sense.

Then again, women tend to rule my household (6 girls).

    Tony

P.S. - I'd love to see Copy Nazi write an ad for this product.
    I think it'd be hilarious!
