Hello;

I was looking at options in marketplace so I design my sales page in a way I get affiliates. I noticed some products come with looooooong copy about the product and no video and some come with no copy and long video. Same industry!

What's going on? What's your experience? Which one is favorable?

Thanks

  • I think that if you can get a video only sales page with less then 20 minutes, you can do really well.

That is something that you will need to test on your own. Maybe a long sales copy with no video will get you more sales. But really you won't know that until you test everything out.

Sales page with long copy will be too much boring for the visitors, SO try to do a short copy with video

Where do you get this stuff from, James?! Testing is better than guessing (especially if guessing leads you to "conclusions" like that one!).

It all depends. If someone has got the time to listen through a 20 minute video with no skipping, then so be it. If they are however in a rush or prefer reading something, then that should be added.

I've always purchased products with a long sales letter because I like reading them and seeing exactly what I'm going to get for my money.
  • If the length of copy is your focus, you're dead in the water already.

    First of all...

Long copy converts. So can short copy. So what?

Oh, and a 30 minute VSL - combined with a long form sales letter CAN convert too.

Never... and The Mark means never... talk about length again.

    Here's a question:

What's so great about your product?

    Another one:

How is your product better than everything else out there?

    Try this one on:

How will people's lives positively change - if they purchase your product?

    Let's not forget:

What's the big idea or hook that will instantly grab people by the throat - so you they KNOW you can help them?

    What about this:

Is your offer irresistible? In other words, you've just convinced me that I need... and want your product. Now, show me how it's affordable and my results are absolutely guaranteed... or my money back. In fact, show how to get my money back - BEFORE I pay.

    By the way...

Who are you? Why should I listen? Did other people listen to you and benefit from what you're trying to sell me? Who are they? What happened to them?

    Lots of questions, right?

And none of them are about length.

    Just saying.

    Mark

  • You won't get the answer you want from ANYONE here. This is the sort of thing that you'll have to test yourself.

What works now, may not work later and vice versa.

    Best of luck.

    Los

  • A combination of both could work well.. Make the reader curious to know more about your product with a short introductory text and present him the video. He should be curious enough to watch it.
A great video makes it easier for the viewer to understand your product and makes a great impact on their mind..
Remember, The 'content' matters more than the 'length' or the format.

But still you gotta test it.. Testing is far far better than guessing.
