Just read The Well Fed Writer

The book talks a great deal about how writing can be a springboard for an escape from the 9-5. I'm looking to see how much of the book has merit, from those who have read it. Thanks!

It was the book that launched my career.

    It takes work. HARD work.

But I survived a layoff in LA and am a full-time copywriter now.

Wow, so the book holds a special place with you I bet!

Did you have any experience before reading the book?

      Thanks for sharing your story.

I have mentored copywriters for more than 15 years, and I have recommended this book to literally dozens of my clients (and others). It's extremely good and very grounded in reality.

I had screenwriting experience before I read the book - it was a colleague in screenwriting that mentioned the book.

A couple years ago, I actually met Peter when he came through the SF bay area. Very cool guy.

Definitely one of the best all-around books on the freelance writer's life.
It's a must read for any freelance copywriter. He shares a lot of practical
experiences on dealing with clients and running a smooth business. This is
not a "how to write copy" book, but how to run a copy business book.
