  • Wow Perry,

I literally was just showing my wife the picture of the tide button on the washing machine.

    Brilliant!

She didn't quite understand how amazing it is in terms of the ultimate business model...
  • I guess it's pretty convenient for people who have time to be home when the delivery arrives. Maybe this will make inroads in those demos...

Most things I order from Amazon I end up having to pick up from the post office. Getting my Tide from the grocers is far less hassle... unless I buy in bulk, in which case I'm on amazon for the savings rather than push-button convenience. (And I buy multiple items to avoid the shipping charge. Does this gizmo offer free shipping? Or will you pay a few bucks a pop to ship single items like that?)

Will be interesting to see how this is received. I hope they'll offer up hard data somewhere in the future...
  • Pretty cool. Will be interesting to see how it goes over.

Here's a little more on it from the WSJ:

    • Quite clever, provide an immediate solution to a future problem and make the process as smooth as possible with the minimum of steps.

I can see a few companies sweating over this though.

Amazon: "Hello Mr supplier, I'm afraid you probably won't make the 'dash list' at your current prices, jolly sorry and all that..."
  • Genius in so many ways. I want a Dash button for pretty much everything in my house. Wonder if they make one for guitar strings?

    • Oh my god...

      Now we're talking.

A band room fitted with a dash button for: drumsticks, microphone leads, picks, strings...

This could put money back into music.
  • Taking all the effort out of buying..making it so easy they don't have to think or even have a reason to buy somewhere else.

Too bad for the small stores out there.
  • Might want to come with a Child Lock on it however as I know my kids love pushing buttons anywhere and anytime for anything....

Just Imagine the Semi pulling up with team of guys to unload your lifetime supply of everything.

    • It does...

"Once connected, a single press automatically places your order. Amazon sends an order alert to your phone, so it's easy to cancel if you change your mind. Unless you elect otherwise, Dash Button responds only to your first press until your order is delivered."
