Fear approach - Video transcript - Please critique
Being new, I have a track record of going way over my head.
Mainly curious if this--at the very least--is presentable. May it be too cynical?

Hi, this is not a sales pitch.
I'd like to share something with you.
I'm a business owner, you're a business owner, and of course we're both going through really tough times.
Finding new clients is difficult. We all know that.
But I think the biggest problem is how we're losing the clients we already have. Losing those repeat customers.
We no longer have that security we once had.
This is not the time to be spending money on advertising.
People, more than ever, are buying from people they know, like, and trust. You've noticed direct mail, radio and tv ads... all becoming less and less effective.
What you have to do is form personal relationships with your customers and connect with prospects on a personal level.
What do I mean from that.
If right now I were to lose everything and left stranded on the street.
All I would have to do is connect to the internet, and I'll be able to make money.
And it's not because I have an internet business.
It's because I've built relationships. A list of people who trust me, like me, and know me. They interact with my blog sites, social media accounts, and I ask what their problems are and help them however I can.
Things are changing.
It is really critical, that you start building these relationships with your local customers on the internet.
It doesn't matter what kind of business you have, whether you sell products or services; there are people right now on the internet looking for solutions to solve their problems. And by helping them now, you gain their trust that will secure future transactions, and the success of your business.
You can do one of two things.
Help them.
That way they'll get to know you, like you, and trust you.
And when the economy worsens, you'll have those relationships to keep your business alive while your competitors are going out of business.
Or you can continue avoiding the internet.
I will say, from my 4 years selling products and services, long gone are days of putting up a huge billboards and expecting people to give you their money.
You have more competitors, and marketing has become more dynamic.
Let me be very clear with this.
The internet gives people more choices.
That means they care less about you.
The way you market yourself has evolved to something completely different.
And the businesses that adapt to this change, will be the ones standing far greater chance to survive this economy.
Timing is everything.

Thanks a lot!
