So I was browsing the forum a couple of weeks back and I stumbled on a thread where the VSLs of a number of products were being discussed.

Some of you noticed how these products were converting like mad on ClickBank. The best part was that these guys are more or less using the same formula for all their VSLs, only adapting the story to fit the product.

I broke down and did a detailed analysis of the mechanics and the more subtler persuasion tricks that were on display in this VSL for the weight-loss niche.

This is LONG.

But it's so, so worth it....

For copy addicts like me, this is heroin.

Don't let it go to waste.

    A detailed analysis of the copywriting techniques - on high converting pieces (let's avoid any "scams" - they might make some cash but are never worth bothering with).

    Be very helpful for the new writers.

    And a useful prompt for the not so new ones.

  • Great writing. Though as somebody that's been around the fitness niche for a long time, some of the content is tired. I've seen so many BS stories about an "ancient technique" that's superior to everything else. More times than not, it's just calisthenics repackaged. Also, some of the info is factually wrong or just opinion - weight lifting is only destructive if you use bad form, etc. etc.

    I know that's more about the content than the quality of the writing. I've just seen a lot of this stuff aimed at getting people to buy, not necessarily aimed at getting them to achieve their goals. Which is fine, it's just a shorter term strategy, and won't create repeat customers as often. I don't mean to come across as critical, just my thoughts as a slightly jaded person very involved in that niche.

      You're right and that's why I focused only on the tactics rather than the "science" behind it. Some of the stuff is pretty sketchy but I know that this VSL converted pretty well when it was released. Goes to show that you can get the sale without having celebrities or high-production values.

      Curious to know what's a product/sales letter in this space that you think is doing pretty well and is great at addressing the high level of skepticism that health & fitness prospects have.
