Above the Fold? Or do we now scroll?
A question for the veterans here. When I started out, you put the good stuff above the fold. Throw it out there and then lead them down the page. But now I've got all these clients who what the cool looking pages where things pop up as you scroll down the page. It's annoying to me, but then again I'm way too deep to see websites as the consumer I'm targeting. At the moment, I'm going after owners/managers of car dealerships. Big ones. About to roll out an email campaign to a list of around 100k. Client loves their website (which is usually a flag in itself) and I've been called in to write these emails last minute. I had nothing to do with any of the other copy so far. They have an absolutely great product that will change the market. But no one is seeing it. Their website just isn't doing it for me, but they want these emails sent out in the next week or two, without touching the website.
Suggestions? The website is in the plans to be changed. But not before the emails. They've been using banner ads and have gotten TONS of clicks, but almost no conversions. I really believe it's the website. It's just blah.
Thanks!
