A copywriting mentor?

I'm an energic person who loves to learn, and writing is a craft that I want to master.

I want to learn the ins and outs of writing/copywriting from someone who's experienced and highly skilled. Someone who has a way with words.

I'm kind-hearted, and would to build a long-lasting, real relationship with someone who wants to guide me on my writing journey.

I will occasionally pay you for helping me too.

I'm always available on Skype so if you want to chat more about being my mentor, I'd love too. Add me: jordand870

Thank you,

Jordan S. Daniels

Jordan if it's possible to relocate - I'd highly recommend doing what I did:

Taking a job, even an entry-level one, in a company known for it's high grade copywriting. One like Boardroom, Agora, Motley Fool, Newsmax etc. It's hard to overstate the value of this kind of mentoring.

When someone will benefit financially as a direct result of your copy, they are HIGHLY motivated to train you well.

If you position yourself right, this strategy will mean you are getting paid to become a better copywriter, which is like the best of both worlds.

      • Jordan,

The first thing a mentor is going to ask you is "What are you reading?"

If you do not have an appetite for reading, then you will meet your first hurdle.

The second thing a mentor is going to ask you is "What are you currently writing and may I see a few samples?"

If you are not currently writing anything, then you will meet your second hurdle.

If on the other hand you are that ferocious reader and steadfast writer, then you already have the first two primary skills needed to be a copywriter and saved yourself from humiliation.

In your quest to find a mentor with high skills, willing to turn over their trial and error - blood, sweat and tears secrets with a promise of being compensated from time to time, you will meet your third hurdle.

A highly skilled, wordsmith is all business and will expect compensation regularly.

In the meantime, there is a FREE resource right at your disposal, here, in this very forum called, "Sticky". Once you've exhausted that resource, your knowledge and skill set will be sent light years ahead.

After going through the FREE resource you just might find opportunities to write for businesses/organizations right there in your town.

The best education (in my opinion) is a combination of study and having copy trying to sell something.

My experience is...it is hard to get a new person to write copy and try to sell a product. It really doesn't matter what is being sold.

Perfectionism has been many a wannabee's downfall.

Get something to sell. Write copy. Get eyeballs (traffic) to the copy. Monitor results. Adjust and continue.

In the first year of your copywriting you should have 12 pieces of copy, each progressively selling higher and higher priced products.

12 promotions, none of which need to be perfect.

    Can you do that?

There may be exceptions, but most mentors that can make a real difference in your growth/career will charge a healthy fee. The ROI you get is a far better skill set, a structured business, less wasted effort, and shorter path to profit (i.e., dinero, money, cash, moola, Benjamins). Unless you are a hobbyist, prepare to save and/or budget for the investment.

      Jordan,

A new copywriter knew if he got the principles of writing ads that get response,
he'd be able to adjust to any situation.

He came up with 5 key principles and asked a local car parts shop if he could write a better ad for him.

      He agreed.

First attempt didn't make much difference so he went back to his checklist.

He wrote the next ad with a tweak.

The dealer sold more parts in a week than he does in a month.

Not only that, he would of sold out more had he not run out of parts.

The car parts man was wondering how he was going to pay his bills up until the new ad writer came along.

If you want those 5 principles he gathered
that he proved worked in the real world,
      let me know.

      Best,
      Doctor E. Vile

That was his first attempt at writing a response pulling ad.
