To judge by all the positive reviews, it gives every impression that it is. However, if any of you have any other ideal recommendations, please list these books here.

There is no absolute best book.

Ray compiled a good reading list here.

Really? Well, in that case, I suppose I should just go by my own judgement, compare the reviews, how good the author's reputation is for supplying good advice, and make my choice. Sorting the wheat from the chaffe, in other words. Wish me well, guys.

        Really. Best is subjective.

It depends on where you are now and where you want to go.

You wrote you want to master the craft, but that's too vague to give you a single definitive answer.

For example, for me the best book for mastery is probably Eugene Schwartz's "Breakthrough Advertising". Though if you're just starting out it wouldn't be suitable, a better bet would be Dan Kennedy's "Ultimate Sales Letter".

Regarding Bly's book, it's a good read and gives you an overview of copywriting, but I'm not sure I'd describe it as a book for mastery of the craft.
