Great analysis, Ray! I wonder how many other "persuasion techniques" you could find in the Bible that were "invented" by Advertising and Copywriting experts. :-)

LOL. Now you want to get me on my soapbox. They are ALL there.
I'll be doing a series of videos like this one to "reveal" them one by one.

I look forward to your analysis on how God "persuaded" the "great Pharisee" Saul to follow Him. I am sure it will be insightful.

          Hello Ray,

Thanks for the great video upload! Yes, it is quite amazing to think that the technique of 'persuasion' has been around for thousands of years. Very good analysis in the video. Well done.

Keep doing them Ray because they'll be astonishingly good (the ultimate persuasion abilities).

Currently the big book has 2.4 billion fans around 1/3 of the worlds population (and amazingly, many have been able to lead far, far happier lives without ever reading a chapter). So you could say the leading self help guide works even if you don't read it.

Think of the incredible videos you can create...

Is it 39 separate books in the OT and 27 in the NT? (and you could add the apocrypha's as a bonus!).

You're going to be busy but I'm guessing you'll so enjoy it.

Just imagine how enlightening it will be for every copywriter who watches.

Knowing their skills will skyrocket (it's impossible for them not to) when they have and use the techniques.

        How cool is that?

Startin' from where you are is such a cool concept.

An' it kinda makes you wonder what would happen if alla our starts got realised the way we wanted 'em.

Prolly we would end up with evrythin' we ever hoped for.

Alla the irritations an' aggravations: all gone.

The only thing left to want then would be change.

An' that is the weird thing, cos when you have filled up an' become whole an' realised your potential (an' alla that stuff), then where is the change gonna come from?

Seems like it gotta be the world that previously fed you stuff you found irritatin', aggravatin' etc, but that way, you jus' get to play exhilatared cipher insteada pissed cipher.

I figure there is a real big frissonspace between emergent souls (whose degrees of aggravation/irritation/wanto/needo varies considerably) and a propulsive planet gonna roll on perfectly happy without any one of us — an' it is this big dippo space, amorphous an' alive an' wrought of purest fiction, into which any an' all persuasion alchemy gotta be ladled.

Eve's thoughts about the tree are a fantasy emergin' from the possibilities inherent in their relationship.

Tree is kinda fixed, Eve got flexibility, fantasy is more transmutable still.

Lookin' forward to morea these, Ray.

    Power up my brain zoomos.

I've deliberately avoided any "religious" bias and treated this as a book.
So any invitation to the contrary will be intentionally neglected by me.
I'm just interested here in persuasion and not religion.

  • Ray,

I understand, and that's why I didn't discuss religion, I concentrated on the success of the writing styles in the book.

And the scope it gives you to talk about persuasion.

Thing I never figured is why Eve never clubbed the snake to death an' ate it.

There is way more protein in a snake than your average apple, an' you can use the skin to make a handbag.

But hey, life was different before the internet, an' we can't blame her for spendin' time with a serpent insteada playin' Candy Crush 24/7.

…and still not talking about religion…I'm not quite sure why Eve - even to this day - got most of the blame.

And yes, there are stacks of copywriting themes you can use based on this.

"Co - conspirators". "not all your fault", "beyond your control" "just one mistake - can be catastrophic" "why do you get so much hassle" etc, etc…

I didn't know whether you were being sarcastic or not, hence my comment.
It's the same when someone discusses a political figure's use of language
without getting into the politics. I just want to stay within the rules of the forum.

I agree that there are a lot more techniques illustrated from that story.
In fact, it shows the primary basis of the appeal of all self-help products --you,
just a lot better and more powerful.
