Can Copywriters Help With Product Launches?

If I hired a well known copywriter to write copy for a product in a specific niche that I know he has written alot of other successful products for, do they ever go to past clients in the niche to help promote your product, if there was incentive for them? It seems like they would have access to huge amounts of lists and if the copy converts well, it should be a win all around.

Does this happen?

Sometimes they have to (or prefer to) maintain confidentiality on their clients. But yeah I would think the same thing. If I ever ran a shop this would be an incentive I'd try to promote...After all if you have a lot of people you do business with, why not facilitate JVs.

Th copywriter is not responsible for promoting your product. He is a copywriter
not a marketer for his copy. Why would I write copy and then help to market
the copy for someone else instead of doing it for myself?

I understand that it is not the job of the copywriter to do this. However if the copywriter was making a commission off of sales wouldn't it make sense to contact past clients and say they have a good product that converts high? Im sure that everyone involved would be happy.

I am not saying the copywriter would go out and actively recruit new people but its very simple to contact past people that they have already worked with and have a relationship with. I know if I hired a copywriter and one day they messaged me with someone elses product that converts well I would send it to my list and be happy doing it. Make sense?

And to argue your point about doing it for yourself then why would any copywriter work for anyone else when they could just outsource a whole product from scratch and bank it all?

It could work but as you said, the copywriter would have to be damned good and well known. The $$$ to you in even engaging such a copywriter might be prohibitive (I am assuming you aren't quite spending 10 - 30K on a copywriter yet).

I know how much the top copywriters charge and don't assume things. I wouldn't have opened this thread if I wasn't prepared to possibly spend that much.
