Are All Successful Internet Marketers First and Foremost Copywriters?

It would be unfair to say that I have checked backgrounds of every successful Internet marketer I have ever heard about. Yet, most of the guys we all admire are or were copywriters. Is this a coincidence? This simple observation wasn't the part of some statistical report. I just noticed something that was pretty much obvious. I am also fully aware that we all search for a magical and unique formula how to succeed and become filthy rich Internet marketers. There are no rules. There are no (safe) shortcuts. Yet, every now and then, there are some interesting patterns that make you wonder, at least for a while. Could this be the missing fifth element I need to use to fulfill my marketer's dreams?

Copywriting isn't the only "magical" element we can find among successful Internet marketers. How about presentation skills? Most of them like to pose as Steve Jobs with a microphone and everything while talking about themselves or their life-changing marketing solutions. However, I'm still much more intrigued with copywriting "origins" than any other secret ingredient.

It started with a kiss, a book, and a promise

What is the best way to let the whole world know you have a brilliant idea that can turn every single Internet marketing enthusiast into a money making machine? Well, you write a book. That is the simplest, cheapest and most effective way. You can also write a blog. Either way, you have to write something. At the later stages, you can involve yourself in presentation activities. But, now, at the very beginning, you have to sit down and do some mind-blowing writing.

All leading Internet marketers' websites are groovy and shiny. It is almost like you are watching an action movie filled with special effects. There are so many top production videos and eye-catching features. Yet, at the end of the long marketer's day, it all comes down to web content and blog. We can discuss personal styles and preferences, but it is quite obvious that our heroes marketers have invested a great deal of time and effort in content writing. Does it work? Well, they wouldn't be there where they are right now, if they have some weakness regarding their copywriting or presentation skills, would they?

If you want to bite, you have to write

Not necessarily, but it seems like a good news to be able to witness the triumph of the written words despite all shiny new gadgets and technologies. Even if you want to impress people with your presentation skills, you still have to write what you are about to say. Unless, you are some kind of a wunderkind when it comes to improvisation.

For example, on LinkedIn, you can enjoy in the unofficial vanity writing competition. No matter how popular or successful you are, what is the use if now and then you don't come up with an article of your own. Our digital and mobile age has reached its peak, but good old writers don't have to worry about their future. A skillful writer can always find an open door. On the other hand, I don't forget that it only takes five minutes or less for some Warrior to come up with at least a dozen names of rock star Internet marketers, who have nothing to do with copywriting in the sense of this article. Yet, I am also convinced that behind every successful Internet marketer, you can mention to prove me all wrong, is a copywriter or even an entire team.

So, that's it? The greatest Internet marketing mystery is finally solved. I only wish this could be true. The successful Internet marketers have achieved so much, because they figured it out how the system works. With our without memorable presentations or legendary books, they found a way. That's the same thing we are trying to do, all of us, right now, isn't it?

Some of the most successful marketers don't have any specific skill set that would make them any money in IM other than they know who to employ to do things for them.

It's not even unethical in my eyes.. They are making that money as honestly as anyone else.

Not every highly successful person who climbed the ranks in this business is a copywriter. There's a significant difference in being able to write converting copy to just knowing sales psychology.

Or maybe they know how to hire the best copywriters.

It's good to know about copywriting but it's not a must to be
successful at internet marketing--this is such a wide field anyway.
