Inspite of writing great content, there is some sort of stagnation we all reach as far as visitor numbers go. That is because great content needs great marketing. And it does not come easy. It is a lot of hard work. Let me touch upon what needs to be done:
Don't shy away: Most bloggers write a great piece of content and feel great when somebody shares it. But if a blog post does not receive traction they expected, they abandon it and forget about it. That's not fair. As long as you know you have written genuinely good content, back every piece with serious promotion. Shout out loud on social media. Let everybody know you spent time on collating some great information. If nobody listens, shout louder. And louder. Don't jump to conclusions by just one share. Share a number of times at different times of the day. People who missed out the first time around, will see it next time.
Go full swing: The more you write, the more people are assured of fresh content. They will be motivated to follow your blog. So get to your first 100 posts really quickly. Write as many as 5 in a day if you can. Once your blog looks like a huge resource site, followers will multiply faster. So when you are into it, do it with all your heart. Single minded work on your blog content. It is also feeding your social accounts and SEO strategy. There can be no better investment.
Make Mutual Friends: Just like you need visitors, other bloggers need visibility. And these small bloggers try to do that by acknowledging your posts. Don't just feel happy about it. Reciprocate. Make as many blogger friends as you can. Not talking about influencers yet. That is a hard nut to crack if you don't know the right ways. But new bloggers are strangers in the park. You smile at them and they will be happy to smile back. Once you are friends with a few bloggers, start promoting their posts. They will promote yours as a thankful gesture. Remember, you don't have to overtly ask for link exchange. It will happen.
Use Social Media Correctly: It is not just about great content or click bait headlines. It is about getting the post format right. Take care of small things like this and the bigger picture will shape up automatically. Be it Facebook or Twitter, there are rules to be followed. If you promote a blog link without a great caption, nobody is clicking. You need the right hashtags too to be found through search. Again, you cannot have your link hiding behind a great picture. Even if Facebook turns your link into a large clickable picture, you need the blue hyperlink as part of your headline.
Spend maximum time doing just this - writing content, making friends and shouting out on social media. You will reach your goal soon.
