If you have a blog and are looking to supercharge your posts into Google's top spots then they need to be optimized and ready for the search engines. You will need to be creative, innovative and be prepared to experiment with different ideas. One of the most important things you need to remember is that a single tactic won't work for every single post. We have put together our top 10 tips to create a supercharged SEO friendly blog post that will skyrocket your spot to the top of Google.

1. Keyword research.

Before you even start writing your blog the first step is keyword research. This is one step you truly can't afford to miss out. You will need to understand which keywords are getting the most attention, as there is no point ranking for keywords that get zero traffic. On the other end of the scale you won't want to be targeting keywords that are over saturated and are so competitive you don't stand a chance. Choose these keywords carefully before you start writing content on your blog. A great place to start is using the Google Ads Keyword tool. This gives you a lot of data and information and can even provide suggestions for you.

2. Link building.

Building links back to your posts is something that Google absolutely loves. Placing your mark all over the Internet can not only improve your rankings in Google but can also give you a steady flow of traffic. One easy way to build links up is every time you write a new post be sure to add a link in your social media profiles. This is a quick and easy way to build some easy links. If you want to go further consider placing some comments on related blogs and link back to your posts for reference. Forums are also a great place to get the word out about your blog by linking back with a link in your signature.
3. Be Innovative
In the introduction we mentioned that there are no set rules when writing a blog post but being inventive and creative will always help. Don't rehash the same content that you see all over the web. Come up with interesting and fresh content to write about and this will certainly help create a supercharged post.
4. Infographics.
Infographics are a great way to add content to a page in a creative way. In fact 90% of the information transmitted to readers brains is visual and picture based posts have 600 times more engagement than plain text ones. Although currently Google cannot read text from your images it's vital to add some text underneath so that this gets picked up. You can also be sure your images are ranking under the Google Images section for the right keywords.

5. Titles

This is one thing you want to make sure you avoid. Titles that have been used elsewhere can cause you trouble when trying to write for SEO purposes. Use a fresh new and original title for the best results. Don't feel like you need to write a whole story within the title. Many search engines set a character limit for titles, which is around the range of 60. If you write a title that is eye catching and easy to read you are much more likely to get ranked higher in the search engines.

6. Long Tail Keywords

Do not hesitate to use long tail keywords. You may think that choosing long tail keywords leads to less traffic but this is untrue. You can easily rank for long tail keywords giving your page a higher rank overall.

7. Keyword Density

Stuffing keywords into your content is a complete waste of time. Not only will the article be unreadable but also it can be dangerous for your rankings. Rather than concentrating on the frequency of the keywords make sure that your writing makes sense and is interesting to read. Since Google's algorithm changes the keyword density is no longer considered as a factor when ranking the page.

8. Experiment

As we mentioned earlier being innovative and experimental is always beneficial. You won't get the same results each and every time you post so try different things. Experiment with different keywords and don't be afraid to try new things. For instance wrongly spelt keywords can get plenty of attention in the search engines. So don't feel like you need to hold back.

9. Be Consistent

Posting on a regular basis is a great way to keep the search engines coming back to your site for more. Aim to post each and every week with original content and Google will keep coming back regularly to your site to check and index your pages. Using a pinging tool can help them to reach your site quicker.

10. Social Media Engagement

Social Media is so important for your blog. Each and every second of the day people are engaging on social media and liking and sharing content. Encourage your readers to share your content on their social media platforms by incorporating share links on your site.

If you keep these 10 top tips in mind when creating your blog posts you can be sure that you will achieve those super charged blog posts. Remember to stay innovative and keep posting regularly. By utilizing these tips on every post you create you can be sure that your blog will start receiving a steady flow of traffic while increasing your ranks in the search engines. The more you share your posts and increase engagement the more Google will sit up and pay attention so be consistent and take action.
