Video sites and profiting from other peoples videos?

I know you're allowed to embed videos on your site without getting in trouble but if your using video thumbnails and profiting from your project as well. Is their any copy-write concerns I should be aware of? The thumbnails on obviously used as the featured image.

The moment someone creates any property these days is automatically considered copyrighted. So yes there are things you need to be aware of that you could get into alot of trouble for.

With that being said it wouldn't be hard to find non-copyrighted videos which you could use as you so choose.

Just make sure you heed to what i first stated. The moment its created its copyrighted whether they realise it or not.

Then number 2 be sure that you can share it without any issues. Good luck!

So for my sake, It would be smart to browse a channels profile and the videos I use from that channel for a personal disclaimer from the creators? Sharing it without any issues?? You mean just make it normal, my audience can subscribe to the channel etc...Don't do anything that would make it harder for the creator to get a subscriber?

The passage below is from youtube's rules about copyright (taken from here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2797468?hl=en)

Creative Commons licenses provide a standard way for content creators to grant someone else permission to use their work. YouTube allows users to mark their videos with a Creative Commons CC BY license. These videos are then accessible to YouTube users for use, even commercially, in their own videos via the YouTube Video Editor.

Go into more detail, and you'll see what can and cannot be done with videos that people who put up videos want to share.

In the piece I quoted, notice that you can use them for commercial purposes of your own if they get the creative commons license. So, once the person who uploads, chooses this particular kind of license, you can make money of their video... but there might be restrictions... So, read for yourself and read often.
