What is your hands down best tool for spell checking in Australian English?

Hi Everyone.

I would love to hear what tool you use for professional spell checking in Aus English.

I know there is no substitute for the old eyes but sometimes I really want back up when I have completed a writing job.

I have had a couple of small things slip through the editing process of late and would really love to ensure this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

Human error is one thing, however I want to ensure I keep a high level of spelling in all my work.

Thanks

  • Gotta figure WordPerthfect would max out on the right kinda marsupialgorithms.

Thing is, I would always wanna trust to my beadies over any spell checker for final edits.

Like habitual upsellers, checkers got a waya slippin' in stuffya don't want or need.

  • Well, for me I stick into Word or MS Word spell checking tool. You do have an option to change the language of your documents and set it to English (Australia) by default instead of spell checking it in another way. For me, it saves more time. I think depending on what version your software is you can simply set it from Tools then Language, click on your preferred language and click on the Default button and just agree to the changes by confirming it.

Thanks - I find there are still some words that slip through this. I use grammarly as well and there are small things that slip through that the spelling checking tool doesn't detect. I have downloaded a file yesterday which is made by an Australian which I have installed on my Mac which apparently has added features and works with Spell Check. I will see how it goes.

I saw online-spellcheck.com that allows you to paste the words on the text box, upload files, upload URL, or upload from Cloud. I think it is worth a try but I am not that confident if it's accurate since I have not used the tool for other languages aside from US English. You also have the option to save the checked document, email it, and print it out.

That is part of my core business and I rely on my skills to polish my work after I have used spell check in MS Word.
