Tracking A Salesletter?

I know there is split testing etc happening on most saesletters but what about other sorts of tracking.

An example of what I would like to track is..

How far down people scroll
How long they spend gazing at the top of the page.

And so on.. Basically all to do with how long a visitor is doing a particular thing on a salespage.

Is it even possible?

  • You may be looking for a service like Crazy Egg – visualize your visitors

This will give you 'heat maps' so you can see your visitors
action on your site. There are other similar services to this
    as well.

    • It seems that only works based on URL hovering, if the user hovers their mouse over hypelinked text or images. That's as far as I could tell from checking it out.

  • You need Clicktale.com

It records your visitors, so you can watch
back in real time. That way you can see
    EXACTLY what they do.

    It's pretty powerful.

Also, it will collate the data into heatmaps
too, so if there's a chokepoint, or something
that really grabs the reader, you can see it.

I suggest this for a lot of my clients, and
they're usually blown away by what it shows
    them.

    Hope that helps
