Copywriting coaching

Hello,

Will 10 coaching sessions 30-45 minutes each? Make a significant improvement in my writing. Split up in the following way 3 sessions for copywriting, 3 for article/blog posts and 3 for email ad copy. Is that enough to learn it? Or do you need more time?

    Copywriting is not what you are thinking it takes time and practice.From the above-mentioned statement, i think you are a newbie here. Get to Read some books and reattend those sessions; what makes you a good copywriter is when you focus on 5% things that will get you 95% result. For Suppose, If you are attending those sessions and reading some other book for improving copywriting skills, you should apply as much as possible.Write every day at least 2 posts apply what you have learned.Remember that educating yourself is not about just reading or attending sessions.The word educate means to educe; educe means to articulate the things that you have learned and put in a copy; to extract as much as possible from your learnings.

    I agree with @Srikanth Reddy P

    I'm not trying to be harsh here. But basically, if you're even asking this kind of a question, then the answer is "NO" 3 sessions of each type of coaching will probably not significantly improve your writing.

    There's no "secret sauce" for achieving greatness (no matter what any so called internet guru might try to sell you)

    5-7 hours of total training might make you a little better. But in reality, it will only introduce you to how much more you need to learn, before you reach a significant level of competence.

    I'm not trying to scare you away from following your dreams. If it's something you really want to do, then "go for it."

    Just be prepared to do the work.

    And if you really want to get good at copywriting, then be prepared to learn... practice... learn some more... practice some more...etc. etc.

    Once upon a time I offered marketing/copywriting lessons for 10 dollars per lesson.

    So, the most asked question was; how many before I could sell my services?

    My answer: I don't know, maybe only 10,000??

    See, YOU don't know what you don't know, as the other guy pointed out.

    I don't know what you bring to the table; skills, aptitude, knowledge, DESIRE, etc.

    Some people catch on quickly, others quit when they find out how hard it really is.

    My stipulation was a simple one; miss an assignment deadline, we're done.

    How motivated are you to learn? This determines how fast you go.

    PS. A popular shortcut these days is to use templates. And many noobs are going that route and cashing in quicker.

      I did some online courses including John Carlton`s Simple writing systems but it had no support. I also read a few books from Brian Keith Voiles and Dan Kennedy.

      But it was pretty hard for me to write something that i don`t know about.

      I discovered there is a problem especially with writer`s block when i tried to write something of a topic wich was unknown to me, i had very few details couldn`t ask for more i only had 2 words to go on.

      That is when i realized that i might need some help. I need help with structuring articles and overcoming writer`s block once i do that i`ll be ok.

        Let me tell you one thing Good is the enemy of Great; Don't be average. You made a decision to become a copywriter, Think about great things you are going to achieve.CopyWriting isn't about the topic which you don't know, it's about telling stories.Forget about products and system, they are enough to be sold.I bet you once you learn these skills people will chase you for selling products through copywriting.Give atleast 3-4 years of commitment for Acquiring copywriting skills.

        My advice.

        1. Try setting up your own blog and writing daily for it. Focus on something you are passionate about or have decent knowledge of. Make a basic plan for each post. At the very least you should know what the point of it is

        2. It is always easier to edit something than edit nothing. Which basically means try doing some timed free writing, say 5 minutes without stopping, correcting, editing at all on topic X, Y or Z. That should help stop the block.

        3. Edit and proofread carefully. Lose the typos.

    While having the natural gift of writing, in general, provides the basic tools needed to become a great copywriter, the reality is that the more you do it, the better you will become. It's a skill that can be learned, just as other skills can be learned. If you work at copywritng enough, eventually you will get good at it. Practice, practice, practice.

    Also, study great copywriting from ad agencies. You'll learn a lot from just reading good copy from more seasoned writers and companies. Pay attention to TV commercials as well. TV commercials have a very short amount of time to catch the attention of the audience. Study how they do it because it's the same skill you need when writing copy. Hope that helps a little.
