Questions to Email Copywriters

I have hired a copywriter from here. Maybe he is the busiest copywriter now. Intially, I have hired him to write a sales page. He sent me some questionnaire. I sent the information and he has written good copy. Then I have placed another order for a squeeze page. I had some emails written earlier by another writer. The copy was good but needed some adjustment. I asked whether he can use them if I order his email writing service too. He said yes, he will do that.

So I placed a new order for a squeeze page and email writing service. He had not sent me any questionnaire for this. Never tried to get clear what the page is for or what the services I want to promote. He just changed a few words of the emails and wrote 3 new emails and written a new squeeze page. He charged $297 for that.

I found that the emails are not good as it is not related to my new services anymore. I have told him that. He then said he has written based on my initial email. I then told him I have told about my services. Should you not clear what the services I am referring or want to promote? He then offered me that he would rewrite the 3 emails he has written for me and changed the text of existing emails. I then asked him not to change the emails as they will not be useful rather write two new emails. He asked me $75 for two new emails.

I said well, in that case I do not need the two emails. You just change what you have written and if possible write one new and if it is not doable ignore it. I will be happy to get 3 emails which you have written.

He then wrote this:

You then told me you wanted two completely fresh emails, for which I replied the charge would be $70 (based on my regular charge of $177 for five emails).

You then replied, saying you did not want to pay anything and asked me create a brand new email in addition to scrapping and completely rewriting the original perfectly good three emails I created on the basis of what now is apparent were your erroneous instructions. In other words you want four brand new emails (regular cost $141.60) for nothing, despite my having done nothing wrong.

As you have, therefore, declined my quite reasonable offer, that offer is now withdrawn and I will not be doing any further work.
Do you not ask questions or clarify what services your client will promote?

Well, partially this is your fault and partially the fault of the copywriter. It is difficult to say who was right. In this case, I recommend you to pay 50% at the beginning of the work and 50% when the writer finishes the paper for you.
