How Do You Plan Your Blog Editorial?

I have been blogging for 6 months now. I have a general theme of the month but I find it very hard to organize my writing, as these themes are all very broad.

I want to ask fellow bloggers how do you plan ahead your writing, for the best experience for the reader.

Any clues?

Calendar of Historical Events - On This Day

on this day in 1492, while Columbus prepared to sail the ocean blue...
There was a cheese and bread skirmish, had 232 casualties.

In addition to these historical events, every day is someone's birthday, or death...PLUS every month has national holidays.

Use the event of the day as a lead in to your subject.

PS Too bad the WF wasn't around for the Bread and Cheese Rebellion, many Warriors could have supplied the whine.

Ok don't blame me if you get marketed to but here is something to start with.

The ultimate list of blog post ideas

As a marketer of my business I tend to focus more on building a marketing calendar promoting my own products more so than building out a pure editorial calendar.

The DM post may give you some ideas.

If you ever do their certification courses or perhaps opt-in or hunt around a bit you might find some other good content relevant to your question.

    Best regards,

    Ozi

  • What working with a theme, one thing you can do is mash it up with something unexpected to give your writing a surprising twist. Like superheroes and work at home moms. What would it be like if wonder woman was a work at home mom?

I would suggest researching FAQ's on each topic. Every blog should provide something to the reader, so why not instruct them on something they actually want to know about?

As long as you always have your monthly theme, there should be no end to possible FAQ's. Good luck!

My advice would be, if you feel really inspired, sit down and write the article and then save it for a later upload to your blog. Create great content and save the best for your theme of the month.
