AnswerthePublic.com is a great one. It's worth looking at just to see the creative site. Ubersuggest.com is another one. I've also used BuzzSumo and found it to be helpful.

Working as a freelance writer is great opportunity to develop and improve your writing skills. You also have a chance to read a lot every time you need to write a high quality essay or research paper. Of course, it`s no so easy to write something that will meet all requirements, that`s why we need to find something that will motivate you, inspire. And it`s not always some essay help website. As for me, I like to travel, discover culture and meet new people. After such trips I always have a lot of interesting and brilliant ideas.

Definitely a 'yes' on AnswerthePublic.com, BuzzSumo like Evelyninusa said, and I personally like Google Trends. HARO is also a great idea.
