Which font do you prefer? Verdana or Arial?

COPY WRITING

Hi, I've been trying to figure out what type of font I should use for my self-improvement website. I've finalized it down to two choices, but I'm having difficulty deciding Verdana or Arial?

I think Verdana is easier to read on the internet, but I think Arial looks more professional and neater.

I think this is the right place (copywriters forum), to post this, and I am curious to know which font do you prefer on websites: Verdana or Arial? Please also explain why you chosen that. Thanks!

  I use both - depending on what the text is used for...and sometimes use others as well.
  
  For readability of long copy, I prefer Verdana.
  
  There are multiple threads about "best font" if you use advanced search.

I Think Verdana looks great. It gives a balance between formal and easy to read.

When I use Verdana I usually use Arial too, because the Arial
in Italics contrasts nicely with the regular Vedana. I don't
feel the Verdana italics go as nicely against the Arial regular.

To my eye the fonts are actually similar and neither is more
aethetic or easier to read than the other. It's the emphasizing
certain portions of text with size, bolding, italic and so forth
that interests me.

I might use Verdana in a 12 pt. and use Arial in a 13 pt italic
and find that pleasing. Just play with these two fonts and
you'll start to see what I mean.

I prefer Verdana for body copy, with headlines in Impact.
