The material looks pretty solid, but not sure if it's a right fit for me. I am looking to write several separate autoresponder emails that I will distribute to my affiliates who will then blast it to their list. So basically it will go out to their own lists and will consist of a single autoresponder email.

Do you think it's still suitable in my case?

So you plan to write a custom email for each affiliate?

Solo emails can be tricky because they tend to read like mini sales letters instead of an email if you aren't careful.

I've written a ton of affiliate emails for clients and they always have me write 3-7 emails. Then the affiliate uses however many they want to use, or takes content from the various emails to piece together their own email. It's always a challenge to make affiliate emails as personal and engaging as regular email copy but I try to follow the basic structure I follow for most emails:

      * Begin with a story or interesting description and make the first paragraph very short, if possible.
      * The email should have a setting - a time and a place. For example, "The other day I was sitting in Starbucks..."
      * Include three links in the body of the email.
      * Precede each link with a question or at least a short sentence.
      * Include a P.S. that mentions one bonus or benefit that wasn't mentioned in the body and also include a link to the website in the P.S.

What about a broadcast that you are sending out to a customer base? Have you found this formula to be effective in that situation?

Yes, I have, assuming it's the person's own list .

If it's a solo ad to a cold list then, no, it doesn't work as well, in my experience, because the prospect doesn't know the sender of the email. My focus then is to get more to the point and make sure there's a link above the fold.

Yes, my product covers solo ads even though I don't advertise
it as such. If you don't find it valuable then you can get a
      refund so you lose nothing.

      Fair enough?

  • I agree with Anita - at least 2 separate emails works best, although there are several resources (I know of a few product launch systems, for example) that contain great examples of promo emails like the ones you're looking for.

Plus of course, you have my email address - I might be able to help!
