Hello everyone,

I am just a beginner copywriter.

I have been reading the Boron Letters and have done some copywork by writing by hand some ads.

Now, where do I being writing to get feedback and figure out which niche fits me better?

    To answer your question...

1 - Once you put in a little more effort, to show you're actually dedicated, I'd be happy to give you some feedback to help you move forward.
Here's your first lesson... Double check your grammar. (you're welcome)

2 - Only you can decide which niche fits you best. Do you feel drawn to anything in particular?

Now I have a question for you...

Why do you want to be a copywriter?

Do you feel you can truly add value to the world through your writing?

Or, is it so you can sell your own products and services more effectively?

Or is it because you bought into the idea of how easy it will be to make 6 figures in 6 months, working only 2 hours a day?

    Some other reason?

Hey, I recently start copy as well. My reason started when I was doing dropshipping but never have enough capital to maintain the business so decided to learn and offer copy as a service.

The way am planning on learning is to read these 4 copy books in 1 month :
      1. Scientific Advertising
      2. Breakthrough Advertising
      3. The Adweek
      4. Cashvertising

I also try to rewrite a copy per day, do you think am on the right track?

I'm interested in email copywriting, would you recommend finding my niche from now or wait until I learn more?

      Thanks m8

You can start posting your copy on the copywriting subreddit and ask other copywriters to give tips to improve yourself. You can also read other topics copywriters made, as it can teach you a lot.

Since you are a beginner in terms of copywriting, you have to keep the following things in mind to get appropriate feedback and review -

    1. Research on various topics and analyze the writing methods implemented by experienced writers across miscellaneous websites.
    2. Find a writing style that attracts you the most, along with the subject that is most appealing to you.
    3. Write several copywriting pieces and get them reviewed by the people around you.
    4. Finally, post these copywriting pieces on relevant social media sites and keep a track on the reviews presented by the readers.

Keeping the above things in mind will help you learn about the niche as well as attract an increasing number of individuals to your writing persona.

Just one opinion. Copywriting is NOT a good business to be in for the newbie, the budding wannabee, beginner or even those who are somewhat established.

For every success, and lets for the sake of discussion, say that is a copywriter who makes six figures or $100,000.00 (USA) a year...there will be 9 who will not make much more than the minimum wage of 30,000 or 15 dollars an hour. Talking freelancers here, agency people may fare better.

Looking at anecdotal evidence online, like Facebook Groups, where you can find scores of groups, from 100 to 30,000 + members, all in the hunt for Copywriting gold...

it is a saturated market, a common commodity, and a cheap one at that. But, ego, and self confidence is unbounded in this area. And the very best copy writers today, are those that are convincing the masses they CAN make their best living (as a writer) with the right courses, books, or mentors on copywriting.

It is a bubble about to burst.

If you can write copy, write for yourself, you will never have to worry about getting work, finding a job, gaining a client or competing with the million and one other copywriters now in force.

  • Pick a subject any subject - goods or services - best if it's something you like.

    Research it.

    Start by -

Crafting an irresistible offer - doesn't have to be a price drop. It can be an "emotional" offer - usually "fear of loss" works well.

Of course you can have a strong emotional offer and a discount.

However, if the emotional offer is super powerful - cost becomes less important.

Often the price can be increased - because the prospects crave the "emotional value" being offered (clients have said - thank goodness for that - this pays for the copywriting fees, design, seo, ppc etc etc).

Words are important but the "offer" is paramount.

And then... yes - you've guessed it.

    Write a few Ads.

    Steve

P.S. Providing you say they were your own "interpretations" I can't see any reason why you can't slot them in your portfolio.

Very useful if - when starting out - you don't have any samples of illustrious Ads.

One thing AWAI suggests that's very low risk is to write a persuasive letter to a friend/acquaintance trying to convince them to order from a specific restaurant/see a specific movie/etc.

You could also just take a low-paying one-off gig from Upwork and see how enjoyable writing for the given niche is...

You are on the right path, practice by choosing a market, research and write persuasive copy to sell a product or service that address the market desire.
