Advice on angle for copywriting piece

5 replies
Hey guys,

I was reading that the angle for a sales piece (focusing on beginners) should follow a 3-step framework.

An example for the wealth niche would be:

* person wants money
* they should become entrepreneurs
* they should do dropshipping (then comes your info product pitch)

For the health niche:

* person wants to lose weight
* they need to be healthy
* they should adopt fasting (then comes your info product pitch)

Would anyone have ideas for the dating niche by any chance?

Massive thanks in advance.

    Not much of an angle, is it?

    First, in your example. Person wants money.
    They should ....

    Well, WHY does a person want money? How will they use it? What does it do for them? When you treat everyone the same, you will write very weak copy.

    Take your market, DATING. What is your product? Do you think it will work for everyone in dating? This MARKET is so segmented these days, you should have different copy for each one.

    Tinder daters differ from eHarmony people, ya think? And those searching on HER, would have totally different needs.

    So, WHO exactly is your product for? SilverSingles daters may or may not be compatible with OkCupid. Bumble vs Match. See? And then there are even more narrow sites, which target different people, Christians who want to meet others of their faith.

    If you are going to stick to that so-called ANGLE, then get more specific.

    Lesbians under 35 vs Senior Professional Lesbians.
    Warriors who earn over 500k a year (very narrow niche indeed).

    Start with your PROSPECT FIRST and get a better handle on what they are looking for, and then you can customize even the most generic of products via the promotion used.

    If you wanted to target older people you could use loneliness as an angle. For example:
    * person feels lonely
    * they no longer want to be lonely and can do that by meeting new people
    * they should try out dating apps
