A Simple Strategy For Mastering Email Copywriting - Fast!

Alright folks

Aaron here with some quick tips about how to get good at email copywriting asap!

The secret is this: Subscribe to the top marketers in the worlds email lists.

Even, create a fresh email account for the sole purpose of subscribing to other marketers lists, and then read their emails and try to figure out their strategy.

Here are some tactics I have noticed:

1. Storytelling and then relating the story to the product - powerful
2. Casual and friendly tone builds the connection - describing their day
3. Talking about family members who were skeptical about mmo - viewed as a common enemy
4. Talking about their failures, mistakes, and personal life - builds trust and the relationship
5. Using a very unique, interesting, or shocking event - curiosity draws you in and gets the click

Hope this helps!

Agree to disagree, however, it does sway decisions.

    Top marketers in the world.

I think we have seen one too many.

As for mastering email copywriting - fast, that would be an impossible goal to achieve.

Email copywriting is a labyrinth of building trust, engaging readers and making sales. If you don't know what your end goal is, you may not get there. Worse yet, people opening your emails will be just as confused as you are.

So before you master email copywriting, you should master why you are writing the emails in the first place.

What's the end goal, what's your autoresponder structure?

I found people are more engaged to series of emails which reveal what they have subscribed for on a weekly basis. Each week if you send an informative video lesson, you will educate your readers, build trust and engage them so they keep opening their emails.

After a while, you will realise that copy is only a part of the game, everything else behind the scenes is what will make email marketing work, or not.

You've mentioned about the opens being good...how about the click through rates followed by purchase?

You can't learn these things quickly, and that's a fact.

I always had a horrible social anxiety. I'd get so nervous about speaking to people I didn't know, I'd get migrane headaches. So one day I joined the public speaking club Toastmasters. Once a week I'd be forced to speak about topics I knew next to nothing about.

After 4.5 years I was able to talk intelligently about pretty much any topic. Even though English was not my first language (nor even second). My friends were so impressed how I could pick up girls at bars so easily.

But anyway, I want to share a tip I recently discovered that will help you build your copywriting chops fast.

This tip comes from Lorrie Morgan (who's a legend) -- it's called "flash fiction". Every day you pick a three word prompt and write a story. Any story. No matter how much it sucks. You write it. Follow though with it consistently and try to connect it to marketing if possible.

After a while you'll transform yourself into an unstoppable story generator. You'll be one of those people who can take the most boring and mundane three words and write action-in the middle story worthy of Hollywood.

I have MULTIPLE e-mail accounts for this. I have them categorized... so I have a general e-mail for new lists coming in. I then read a few e-mails and will sort them towards other e-mail address' ( I unsubscribe, the first acct, and then subscribe again with the new one )

I like to see the contrast - the good the bad and the ugly right? There is also some I follow that I know are earning money, but the e-mails are rather lame - so I focus more on these to understand what it is they are doing to "Make it". In most cases it is the level of content creation so its not the e-mails doing the work its the content. The e-mail is just the reminder "hey dont forget click here to check out X" - its mind boggling that this works but I follow more than a few that do just this...
