Writing content - should I hire a freelancer and $10 or do it myself?

I want to have a few articles written for a small website I run.

It's a really small niche and I want to get more links on the first page.

Google gives me a few commonly asked questions. I want to be the website that Google quotes.

QUESTION: will using a cheap writer cause any harm?

I'm scratching my head trying to think if I should write the content myself?

Thanks.

will using a cheap writer cause any harm?

Depends on the quality of the articles/posts..... but then, you already know that.

If you have the time and ability and know the subject well, you can write your own content....but you can always HIRE writers to do it for you. If the main criteria is 'cheap', quality might be lacking or work may be up to your standards. You have to make that judgement.

When writing an article its also good to have your article SEO Optimized . That however does not mean stuffing your content with keywords . So while it needs to be quality content , well written , have certain persuasion techniques , seo awareness is required to obtain the best benefit from your content .

There are many people out there , just producing poor content or , machine spinned content .

If you are serious about your website than research first who the top writers are in your niche , or write it yourself if you have the time . You certainly have the motivation as it is your website .

    Just some points to consider

Only if by cheap writer you mean cheap writing. Some writers who do not charge a lot produce good writing, most produce cheap writing.

It's not how much you pay for it but its quality that matters.

Generally speaking, low price = low quality. But now always.

Other than that, what's the quality of your writing?

If a $10 writer produces pieces that are better than yours, you're better off paying them. If not, do your own or find another writer, one that produces pieces that are better than yours.

I personally am pretty hard core on this topic... write it yourself... $10 probably wont even give you a good skeleton to fill in. I know I would have spent $10 and then spent mor than $10 of time researching and writing it over. Kinda wasting $10 and the time you are waiting to get the piece back - just write the article, and save yourself the time and money

If you have to ask, then the question isn't about using a cheap writer - it's about your ability to evaluate the content.

If you can't tell whether an article is likely to harm your site before you publish it, my advice would be be to hire the best writer you can afford - one with a whole bunch of glowing recommendations from previous similar projects - and trust in their experience.

Otherwise, you might as well write the articles yourself and be ready to modify or replace them depending on results.

      You are so right here.

I think most people do not really know what a writer does. I mean, they know a writer produces content with words in it, but they do not know that a writer organizes the information, for instance. And organizes it based on the purpose of the piece, the audience.

They think it's all about correct grammar and no copyright infringement (or, at least, none that copyscape can find. Many know good writing when they see it but cannot tell you all the reasons that piece is good writing. But they cannot tell you all the levels... like, if you get 100 pieces, they might group them in 3 or 4 levels by quality, when they could be grouped, if you know what to look for, in 10 or 8 or 14.

If you rank them, they do cannot tell the difference between 37 and 47 or 85 and 96.

They do not know that often the difference between 37 and 47, for instance is irrelevant for they purposes.

Some do not even know why 37 is so much worse than 97. And, because of these things, they often think they can do the job themselves as well as all but the Shakespares of the world.

Or they think all writers are basically the same, so why pay more than 1 penny for 10 words?

If you have the time, I'd pay three different $10 writers to write one article based on your instructions and then compare and pick the one you like best.

There's always the chance of course, that you'll hate them all. lol. And then you either have to start over and do it again or maybe you'll see what you DONT want written and write it better yourself at that point.

Or you may love all three! To me, that's a much better problem lol. And you may then have writers you can hire again in the future.

Again all this depends on your budget and amount of time you have or are willing to take to do it.

IMhumble opinion, if I loved my business enough, it's something I'd do.

Or get to the point and hire one writer for $30/article. Paying $10 three times is likely to get you 3 bad articles....but you still pay $30 .

Improving one's writing skills is helpful. But the way to make money is to get people to your pages, have them take an action that makes you money.

Hire someone to do the writing and someone that gets people to see that writing is the fastest way to making money.

For some people, the only way. Because some people, even after months of trying still produce shitty writing and cannot drive traffic.

I wonder about this all the time. Responses months later, long after OP has disappeared.

Oct. 5, 2022, last post. Oct. 14, 2022 last WF activity from starengine.

Nov. 5, Dec.5, Jan 5 THREE full months later, and here we are. What is it that makes folks like yourself respond to these months old threads? Just curious really.

He could have written dozens of articles, or has others write them, more than likely he is off chasing some other YouTube course on making money, fast, easy, simple with hardly any work.

One disappointment with WF, is, how they have so many of these types who post a question and disappear. Now to be fair, some very good stuff may come from the answers other Warriors can use, but if they haven't been back in 3 months, maybe you don't need to answer their questions, unless, maybe, you preface that way.

Heck with starengine, but for you other Warriors, here is some...........

      Just wondering.

In this case, the member you quoted returned to his post to add a spam link. The OP? Who knows. Maybe others have gained something from the thread.
