Looking for performance based copywriter in Hypnosis Niche - $5000+ budget

I need a copywriter who has expertise within the hypnosis niche to possibly re-create or re-design the following sales letter which belongs to a client of mine - How To Hypnotize Someone - Learn Covert Hypnosis | NLP | Mentalism

Current traffic averages 200 visitors a day from search engines, with an average 0.25% conversion rate. I'm willing to pay $5000 or more for a guaranteed 0.5% conversion rate or higher. Half paid upon completion of sales letter, and other half paid upon said conversion being averaged throughout a 1 month period.

Alternatively, I'm also willing to offer a copywriter a JV if he/she is willing to forego all upfront payments. If the conversion rate reaches 0.5% or higher, the copywriter will receive 50% of all sales above the 0.25% conversion rate, until a total amount of $10,000 has been paid out.

This product made just over $20,000 last year, so a double conversion rate should easily lead to $40,000 a year, meaning the copywriter would receive their $10,000 within the first year if their copy results in a doubled conversion rate.

My client's main competition are Learn Hypnosis - Hypnosis Training Foundations - Hypnosis Book + Cds/Dvds + Tapes + MP3s and Learn Hypnosis ? Covert Hypnosis Training Secrets

Agreements will be made in writing before undergoing this project.

Anyone interested in more info please PM - very experienced copywriters with established reputations only please. Only PM if you're prepared to be paid based upon performance. If 0.5% conversion is not reached then you will not make any money from this project.

    You've got 200 visitors coming to your site each day from the search engines.

    That's fantastic.

    I'll tell you.. you'll need to pay a basic fee anyway to any copywriter you hire.

    Very experienced copywriters wont take your offer as they already get loads of work with full upfront payments.

    I'll keep it very objective and professional.

    You'll need to definitely rethink your offer at the end of the thread. I'm sure that's what is going to happen to you.

    Because.. if you get an established copywriter to write for you on a performance basis, count your self DAMN LUCKY!!!!!

    Experienced copywriters call the shots and not their clients. ALWAYS.

    And yeah.. your offer sounds good to me. Just that, without any upfront fees.. it doesn't gel with me at least. I'm sure most people won't like to work completely for at least 40 hours without any upfront payments... especially when they've lots of work on the table that they can't even complete.

  • Cheap Website Traffic

    You're currently getting 200 visitors a day, right?

    Well, instead of paying me $5,000 at the end of the month... why couldn't you just pay $100 for 40,000 visitors? Cheap traffic doesn't convert for squat, so even if I convert EVERY SINGLE ONE of your targeted 200 I can't possibly meet the goal on the cheap traffic.

    And hey presto, you just got a professional sales page for $100.

    So, uh, good luck with this.

    • Your price-point is dancing on the edge of being
      very hard to sell with out a substantial, multi-contact
      process. This wisdom comes from Axel Anderson -
      who made millions selling how-to courses through
      multi-step direct mailings.

      To sell at this price you need a marquee name or
      a multi-stage process. I'm sure your product
      can have much higher conversions, but I doubt
      you will achieve what you want by directing traffic
      straight to your letter.

      I could develop the process, but I would not do
      it on spec.

  • You're not going to like hearing it but the majority of very experienced copywriters won't take your project.

    There's a ton of ways that conversion rates can be knocked down besides whatever sales copy is being used. For example, throwing a bunch of untargeted cheap junk traffic at a site can knock down a conversion rate and do it fast.

    A very experienced copywriter will want full access to all of your site's metrics, including conversion rates, cost per click, monthly gross & net sales, etc... and they'll want it in writing to protect both parties.

    If you're serious about wanting a very experienced copywriter to take your project than you need to consider a strong offer -- like an upfront base fee plus ongoing royalties. In return your copywriter will *probably* offer to continue to advice you on what needs to be done each month to keep response rates high.

    Of course, that's been my experience so take it as such.

  • Thank you kindly to everyone for your insightful and critical feedback. I've had a few PMs and will be replying to them soon. Rick, that was a fantastic post you wrote, and certainly hypnotic.

    CDarklock, I can completely understand your concerns in regards to buying cheap traffic to lower the conversion. From my perspective however, if double the amount of money is being made from the sales letter, then surely an extra $10k out of my pocket is a small price to pay?

    I am of course willing to provide the copywriter with full access to all analytics, and screenshots of earnings, clickbank conversions, etc. The traffic I'd be basing the conversion off would only come from search engines, not from direct hits. The "absolute unique visitors" from the search engines would be hard to falsify, but let's be honest, if the SEO traffic suddenly jumps to 2000 visitors a day from 200, and the conversions become much worse, then it would be pretty obvious that I'm doing something devious, and the agreement can easily have provisions to prevent such things on my part. All I can say is that I'm more interested in making money than scamming the person who's going to help me do that.

    I've had some great offers so far, and will be looking at some samples before selecting someone.

    • I find it strange that you're asking me.

      I think it's perfectly reasonable to say "I think X."

      But I wonder why you might choose, instead, to say "Wouldn't I obviously think X?"

      It gives me pause. It's not conclusive, by any means, nor does it really have any definitive meaning. But it's offputting.
  • I don't write for this niche, but the website's header says "covert" hypnosis. However, if the technique requires you to use a posture like the guy in the picture, I think you're gonna blow your cover.

    • Personally, I don't know anything about hypnosis or NLP but that sales letter is really bad.

      I'm amazed the conversion level is that high.

      If you get your hands on a good copywriter, you could make a fortune.

      Hell, if you're making money with that letter, I should stop sitting on my project and launch it already.

      Anyone have some spare time they want to sell?
