Lovely... except if you have no idea how to go about crafting a compelling squeeze page. Although I can create a damn good farticle, the art of the squeeze page is beyond me.

Is there a basic formula for writing one of these? (i.e. Powerful Header + Image + Bullet Points + Madlibs Style opt-in forms)
#copywriting #pages #squeeze

  • Offer the people something they want. It's always
predominantly about the attractiveness of the offer.

it's simple. don't reinvent the wheel. If you want to create a squeeze page that converts like fire sauce.. model it after the best.

    who'se the best?

Cpa networks. Look for the hottest cpa offers out there that are getting 1,000s of conversions a day. The goal of their page is to capture people's info, no?
These merchants test and track like crazzzy.. because if they didn't.. their affiliates would jump to the next hottest offer and leave them.

Look at the techniques they use... the techniques work. implement that into your own sales process.. and you're good to go.

You'll notice quickly. the best Cpa offers speak to the biggest benefit. they keep things super clean and simple.
They have a strong call to action.
THey use arrows to direct attention.

    Things like that =)
  • Yes, there is a formula. And many. People have different techniques, and I've developed my own (on the backs of many others, Fortin included).

Since I believe squeeze pages are mighty important, I have a blog category dedicated to them:

And I also wrote a blog entry to address your question in particular:

And to add some content other than links to my posts, get a Avatars - Create an Animated Talking Character for Your Website account and add a talking head. They do wonders for conversion.

    • Stephen,

      That's a pretty cool website.

I looked around the site but couldn't find how long the length of the video was limited to.

I'm actually starting to test this method out and even created a service for implimenting animated videos on squeeze pages. It's very similar to what this site is doing, only taking it a bit farther.

Thanks for posting that, I wasn't aware of that service, but it's nice to see that the technique is being embraced. Personally, it just makes a lot of sense to me...

  • Nice KJ, looks like a great service you're providing. I'm sure it will work wonders for clients.

  • Personal recommendation-- Try to stay above the fold!

Keep as much of your most important information as close to the top as you can. I'm a fan of brevity altho others may disagree. Keep it short, direct and most of all useful!

Think of how most of us scroll down a page...Once, slowly as we scan the top...Twice little faster...by the third scroll we're moving too fast to take in a lot of information. Don't make your prospects work for your offer.

The world's most interesting headlines will still not get you the honest email addresses your looking for to build a proper list. You need something of value, specifically targeted to the market environment your advertising in.

Try checking out Mike Dillard. His advice is invaluable to any marketer looking to build a long term income.
