Where to post copywriting jobs

Hi,

Is there a place on this site for posting copywriting jobs? I can't see the right place.

Last week I posted a copywriting job in the copywriting forum and the post was removed. I received a private message about it and I replied asking if there is a place I could post the job, and I haven't yet received a reply.

I understand of course -- most forums have rules on advertising etc. But I can't find rules on this. Maybe I'm missing a really obvious link, I don't know. Is there somebody about who would be kind enough to point me in the right direction so I can read the rules on this?

If the policy is not to post jobs on the site, then of course I understand and accept that.

Thanks, Richard

There is a classifieds section. There is a "Warriors for Hire" section, which also allows wanted postings, as I understand it.

...if you actually have jobs, and not still stuck in the "collecting copywriters" stage.

And exactly how many copywriters do you need for approximately zero jobs, I wonder.

    A bit off-topic.

But if the copywriters here pick up the art
of meditation...this forum will be a more
    peaceful and productive place.

    More bliss and helping please.

        Thanks for the new comments.

The job didn't fit any of the copywriters on my books, on the basis of salary expectation, location, and experience. I didn't have anyone on the books with the right combination of these, as specified by the client.

It was an on-site job, full-time -- not freelance.

I mentioned in the post that I know most people here mostly focus on online sales letters, that I don't currently have any jobs of that type (though I do expect to get some in), but that I wanted to try this job here, on the basis that I'm sure there are people with lots of backgrounds here, and so I might find the person I'm looking for here.

    Thanks for your replies.

Wait till it is a full moon!

I wouldn't see John's comment as particularly bitchy -- though other phraseology perhaps could've been used

Right now, I have a few jobs only. I haven't yet stepped up the promotion to clients. There are a few bits and pieces I need to get in place first. I have enough copywriters on board to have been able to give the few clients up to now good matches for the job descriptions, but I didn't have anybody in the database that fit the criteria of the job I posted in this forum last week.

So, essentially, John's comment is not far from the actuality: I'm still collecting copywriters. And we're still at an early stage with Wordfruit.

We've got lots of growing to do. And we fully intend to give clients the solutions they need.

Mike, I'll definitely give some thought to your suggestion -- I hadn't planned to make the job board viewable to non-members, but this could work with some adjustments.

    Thanks again

So treat your classified ad as a lead generator for getting new copywriter members. Give a sample classified if you want to but... I think emailing your house list of copywriters already joined is your best bet.

It doesn't matter how many leads you may or may not have... if you start offering leads to your list, then word will spread and you will get more referrals... both new leads to offer and new copywriting candidates to join.

Right now, I'm betting most of your list is like me and doesn't any idea what leads you might have to offer.

      Food for thought,

      Mike

I'm not sure what your client was looking for and/or how the copywriters you had weren't suitable... but a couple of points...

First... like Mike said... it never hurts to email and ask. I refer a fair bit of work to other copywriters (and have work referred to me)... so sometimes just asking is the easiest way.

Secondly... everyone has to do their first promotion of a certain type at some point.

Lack of experience doesn't necessarily equate to lack of competence. IMHO a good copywriter can usually nail the gig even if it's a market they haven't written for before.

      Just a couple of thoughts.

Always looking for badass direct-response copywriters. PM me if we don't know each other and you're looking for work.

    Hi Richard,

I looked at your site, and noticed the thing about the 26 letters of the alphabet.

"...and I did it all with words. Those 26 letters of alphabet pack a lot of power baby! Let me wield them on your behalf."

That's a line from a piece of copy I did a while back. Could change "me" in the above to "WordFruit" I guess.
