Hi guys Im undergoing some intensive copywriting training and at the moment and its the same great names that keep popping up all the time Kennedy, Halbert and Carlton etc. but no mention of any women. I know there are some great women in affiliate marketing but what about copywriting specifically.

I did come across one womans name which escapes me at the moment but she got blasted over her NLP techniques.

Her style is very in your face. I bet this forum would shred any of her stuff (if they did not know it has worked).

Her style has a place and she is using it very well.

Carline Anglade-Cole's copy is smoking hot.

Just look at her million-dollar controls. I wish
I had a CV like that (working towards that).

Woman can write just as well as man. Maybe even
    better.

P.S Yes, Collette belongs to that list.

I can't think of any well known female copywriters either. But there's GOT to be some!

The rules of copywriting have DEFINITELY CHANGED. In fact, I'd say we've moved into Copywriting 2.0. For the first ever YOU can learn how to write copy that speaks to her in HER LANGUAGE.

The main reason I posed this question is because everybody always say something like "you should read that book by John Carlton" or "This book by Dan Kennedy" or "study all the copy written by Halbert". Maybe all the women are just keeping a low profile, apart from that one that likes to scream a lot on daytime tv.

      Picture this:

You're hanging out at home. Maybe you're washing the dishes or changing the oil in the car or doing some other mundane thing.

      The phone rings.

      You pick it up.

      It's Oprah.

She wants you to write the promo package for "O", her magazine.

(There are how many copywriters in the United States, again?)

      Yes. Oprah wants you.

I suspect you'd scream like a 13-year old at a Jonas Brothers concert, too.

If you're looking for a "great female copywriter," then check out Susanna Hutchenson, who became a copywriter in the 1960s. Here's her website: Freelance Copywriter| Advertising copywriter| Website Copywriter| Direct Mail Copywriter | copywriting service.

Michel Fortin wrote about her in this post: http://www.michelfortin.com/is-copyw...sculine-skill/

She used a male pen name when first starting out and even dressed like a man to get her first job writing copy.

If you think copywriting is male-dominated now, it was even more so when she first started out, and she's had a very impressive career. She's an inspiration.

If you are thinking of writing to the female market, then Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero is one of the better female copywriters who understands them.

Even though she has been trained by Gary Halbert, John Carlton and Dan Kennedy, she knows writing to women is a little different, as they respond differently.

Good thing to know because they control most of the spending!

She has training on how you go about it too.

Alex above has a link to her website.

        All the best,

Speaking about Gary Halbert...if you read his
newsletter archives, you might have came across
sales copy done by his secretary, Theresa.

You can see a sample yourself here:
          http://www.thegaryhalbertletter.com/...denWriting.pdf

Compelling read, isn't it? Even Gary Halbert himself thinks so.

The funny thing is that Theresa isn't even
a copywriter. But she became so good at it -
even unknowingly to her - because she has simply
been typing out all of Gary Halbert's sales copy
          for a long time.

Gary's style was "burned" into her subconscious just
by virtue of being constantly exposed to it for a
          prolonged period.

          Amazing. Just wanted to share.

Completely different. It's self-promotion and best at teaching copywriting vs. best writing skills.

You're talking about the people who have done the best job promoting (marketing) their books and brand. Halbert's stuff is solid but I think he gets mentioned as much as he does because he has so many free to read newsletters on his website.

There are alot of great copywriters (male and female) who don't have a 'learn copywriting' book or course and have no desire to create one.

Really, if your goal is to learn copywriting, the gender of your teacher is irrelevant.

      Take care,

      Mike

There's loads of female copywriters out there doing great work.

The fact is thought that a person doesn't have to be female to write content that's targeted for female buyers.

A female freelancer had a 4-year control at the company I work for... historically, this is probably our best-selling product too, so it's likely a lot of folk (men) would have tried to beat that letter and failed.

Also, the copy director at Casey Research is a lady.

In the financial niche it's about 75% male buyers, so being a successful copywriter in it - without having a wiener - is pretty bad ass!
