Any ideas, leads as to which sectors in the BTB market
are ripe for picking for a copywriter?

Reasons?

Thanks in advance guys and gals.

Try to consider verticals that have not yet fully embraced the power of the digital world. Think about old-school industries that could benefit from web leads and online orders. Hope this helps!

    Ewen,

Even though Yellow Pages advertising is down, many businesses still put ads there. You could look for lousy ads, contact the business owners, and offer to write them a great ad.

I'm working with a fairly small business who sell to large corporates. There's plenty of small businesses wanting to work with big companies.

Bob Bly has a great B2B ebook which I bought and recommend.

        Thanks Hugh.

How is your client getting his/her foot in the door?

How many stages to get the sale?

Yeah I have been poking around at Bob Bly's website over the last 2 days...
        He is a prolific writer!

Look for ambitious, hyper-competitive businesses that already do advertising that are at least $1m in size. - Rick Duris

I'd go after service type businesses.

              IT Services
              Staff/Temp Services
              Large Recruiting Agencies
              Printing Services
              Event planning
              Business Consulting
              Manufacturing services like heat treating
              Insurance
