Hey guys,

Just wondering, do most copywriters online prefer to use software or do it old school, notepad and pen, then get those up online.

I prefer doing it by hand but I want to know what the A-listers use, seeing as I'm not there yet!

    Hi,
My answer: both. I use the computer to work up drafts, research and provide at least rudimentary graphics.

I do my editing by hand, wherever I may be: waiting in a doctor's office for hubby, dining out in luxury at the local McDonald's (I joke, I joke!) or arriving early for a meeting and sipping coffee while revising, editing or noting down raw thoughts.

And I jot down brilliant ideas, headlines, phrasings, etc. anytime they burst into my mind... often at 3 am by flashlight, using pencil and scraps of paper by the bedside. Or when I'm fishing and dreaming in the sun, half-hypnotized by the drifting clouds and watery waves while seagulls swoop and dive - I receive that sudden flash of inspiration and write really fast before I actually hook a fish.

So it's a combination of computer and hand-scribbles. This is why I never ask for any kind of hourly pay; I charge by the project. It's the only truly fair way for both my clients and me.

    Hey Dorothy,
Thanks, I agree but I meant in the sense of using something like BURPIES by Brett McFall or Joe Vitale's hypnotic writer, etc.

I can't use those, but of course I use my laptop to write up my sales letters after I get ideas on paper
