            So Wally, you don't know for sure whether it's true or not, correct?

            (Yes, I can think of some others it could be. And there are some A-listers who "roll" under the radar I don't even know. Frankly, I'm not interested in speculating.)

        1. "How To Write A Good Advertisement" by Vic Schwab

        2. "Outrageous Advertising" by Bill Glazer

    DISCLAIMER: I would like to apologize in advance for any cliches you may find in this post.

    I hate swipe files with a passion. Not because they are bad in themselves, but because the are overused.

    That being said, I really enjoyed the read. Why? Simply because you can also find the explanation of why these headlines were so successful. This is the part everyone should read.

    These principles stand up to this day. In comparison, if you try using those headlines today, you might be in for a nasty surprise, precisely because they've been so overused.

    You don't become a good copywriter by copying, you become one by understanding.

    Several people have come and said, I've seen these headlines before.

    It is not the headlines that make this post valuable. The headlines without the explanations would not be worth while. Having someone explain what makes them good, now that's awesome!

    I wrote my first pitch page not long ago and I wrote it blindly. I'm afraid to touch it because it is doing well. However, I'm certainly going to use what I have learned from that page to write some articles. I haven't even finished all of the explanations yet and it has given me a lot of ideas.
