    The Wall Street Journal brand has a certain respect factor. And the tag line, "The daily diary of the American Dream", is pretty strong. Apparently those two things in the header were enough to get people reading the letter.

      letter from Gary Halbert didn't have a headline.

      Gary didn't want it to look like an ad, so no headline.
