Internet Guru Xxxx Xxxxx Retires! (Sound familiar?)

Does this sound familiar at all?

"Then I stipulated that he call it "My Farewell Car." That to signify a degree of finality and his satisfaction with it.

But he replied "I don't intend to retire."

I said that was unnecessary. Sarah Bernhardt made seven farewell tours. He could have two or three. Every farewell is subject to reconsideration.
That's from Hopkins' My Life In Advertising again. Definitely gave me a chuckle, thinking of how many Gurus have used it.

Cheers,
Stephen Dean

I think Cher had about four farewell tours.

After her gig in Vegas, she's going out on tour again.

I am not sure they are getting it from that book. It is
just creating scarcity (albeit through lying). It has
      nothing to do with gurus...

I remember seeing Ozzy's last tour... 4 tours ago

Ever wonder why they spray Ozzy with water while he performs?

Of course it has something to do with Gurus. In this conversation. As that's how most people in IM have seen the technique being used recently.

And with Cher, as Harlan pointed out. And Jay-Z.

Desktop Copy Coach for $750 anyone? That's a steal.
Yep. The Summit is on its way out now, and How To Build A Six Figure Copywriting Businesses was taken off the market Sunday.

Unfortunately, I think Clayton might actually stick to his guns on this.

Are you getting anything from the sale?
            Hey Matt,

Yeah, Clayton's a pretty honest guy. And while these products may be sold on the odd occasion in the future, I think he's just doesn't want to deal with the costs of production, inventory, etc.

I picked up How To Build A Six Figure Copywriting Business before he took it off the market. I'll probably pick up the Hot Seat Sessions and Steal These Secrets.

Considered the Business System, too. I think you're pretty safe with any from Clayton, really.

            Best,

    Hey Matt,

I'm totally their with you regarding Steal These Secrets. I have a lot of trouble reading off the screen - can't hold my attention.

If it were print at $127, I'd be all over it. But I have some reluctance because of the format.

I'm not sure if he'll drop Quick Start anymore, but it's worth the wait. If not, I would still pick it up. As a happy owner of the program (this one exactly, not its original Desktop Copy Coach version), I can tell you it's well worth the money.

As far as How To Build A Six Figure Copywriting Business... Well, it's decent. To be honest, Clayton's whole approach to getting clients is, "Get a list of hundreds, mail to them with a letter saying they'll receive a package that'll change their business, send a FedEx/HDL package selling you and your samples, then follow up the next day after they receive it.

Very similar to Bob Bly's approach.

The program has a few golden nuggets. Honestly, I feel like the last 5 of 7 audios were worth it, but was rather dissapointed with the first 2. They weren't terrible, but nothing I haven't heard before.

The bonuses and transcripts are good, too, except for the .pdf format.

Anyway: if you can pick it up for a decent price, it is worth the time to find the good stuff.

    Best,

    Angel

      Print it yourself.

Buy CD-Rom. Take it to OfficeMax. Say, "Hey, print this, okay?"

I do this all the time. Problem solved.

7 Steps to Freedom 2 is a mammoth of a book. It's sitting on my shelf, regrettably gathering dust. Having the same problem with Ben as I did Vic Schwab - just can't get into the writing (but with Schwab, I made myself read it with a highlighter).

By the way, those last audios focus less on the "building" business, and more on personal productivity and copywriting techniques.

But again, this program isn't really "need to have." If you end up buying the Quick Start system... His whole copywriting process is laid out there in minute detail.

    Best,

    Angel

I'd gladly give away my "secrets" without retiring (I have been for years). Frankly most people are either too damn lazy or too stubborn to apply them...or to ask for a refund. Yes, I went there.
