Any suggestions for a good list broker?

In the US, a lot of libraries subscribe to Reference USA, which is a good source of offline leads. It is a paid subscription, but you can access it for free if you find a local library that subscribes to it.

You also might want to find some local list brokers, and work with them. They can be a good source of clients, too.

With Info USA... test first, then ping the takers vs. their total database in your trade area to get the universe of prospects.

For instance, you will probably find that your most response comes from small business... in the service industry... with less than 20 employees ( or something like that).

Then you want to target the look-a-likes in the territory you cover and you can really sell all over the U.S. via the web.

And while you are selling all over the U.S. pay attention if your best customers are coming from major cities or secondary markets, even rural.

You want to do a couple test mailings... find the sweet spot, then expand.

Also, don't be afraid to use first class post cards... for two reasons... a 3" x 5" post card can be mailed first class for the same price as bulk... and it automatically cleans your list... and cleaning your list is part of your profitability... a business list can change by 40% year over year whereas 15% go out of business, 15% move and 10% are new all together or expand locations.
