Video marketing, title, description, and tags

I have used other peoples videos that I find interesting to improve traffic to my sites. I also have used others titles, descriptions and tags to place my video near theirs and hopefully intern gain more traffic to my web sites.

Now, I know you must be careful not to infringe upon copyright laws that apply. With all good intentions I have received some negative feedback on this method.

By attaching yourself to someones name or business what I see is you naturally bring more visitors to their site as well as your own. Am I wrong? Is this a legit strategy?

I see video marketing as the future in all marketing. Video is very powerful...

I'm hoping someone will chime in on this question...

it almost looks like YouTube WANTS you to alter/ edit/ overdub
if it will make them and us adsense cash.

this IS an interesting question, I'd like to see what our fellow Warriors think.

I saw a vid, that someone had altered, and it was hillarious, so I went to embed it myself (YouTube lets you do this), but the original didn't have the alterations...

I see where we can add captions and whatnot...
so, it does appear that we can do this.

    I sure hope so

I suggest having a disclaimer before the video so your video doesn't get ripped off.
As far as using successful titles and descriptions created by others- I've used it with good results, but have altered them to fit my video. Don't just copy it word for word, but model the successful.
