    I read Maria's book "Web Copy That Sells"... didn't think much of it.

    Kevin Rogers has written some brilliant seduction letters, but he charges a lot. Not sure who the 'best" is though... but my guess is none of us could afford them.

      I have her book too, have been meaning to read it, but of course its one amongst a stack. Can't say I'm crazy about that headline, but she knows more about writing copy than I do, so...*shrugs*

      I love Kevin Roger's voice as a writer and Vin Montello's style and storytelling skill. I respect the classic writers like Hopkins, Collier, Caples... the guys that our 'generation' of copywriters study to really understand the art and science of writing copy. Then there are the modern A-listers like Carlton, Makepeace, Kennedy...

      I definitely think you should work with a copywriter who writes in your niche and knows your audience inside and out. As far as the dating niche, I don't know who the top writer in that niche is. One suggestion is to focus on who has been very successful writing in that niche, not necessarily the 'top'. Finding out who the 'top' copywriter is can be a subjective process, when you probably want the most sales for your product anyway (unless you're asking for a different reason?).

        thank you for the helpful reply. i'm going through several copywriters' books right now. although i won't be writing my copy...i'd like to get a sense of their style. and hopefully find a contemporary to hire for the job.
