Video Copy Vs Sales Letter

Hi,

I am planning to launch a diet ebook for my sister who is a doctor. Should I hire a copywriter and go the usual route or should I do a video sales letter? Which do you think will be most effective in the diet industry? We will be targeting women

    While you're waiting...

    Hope that helps.

    Edit:

Just wanted to add that no matter what direction you decide to go, a professional copywriter will be your best plan of action.

Copywriting comes in many different flavors, not just "words on a page". There's also radio, television, etc.

In other words, even if you go the video route...you're still going to need a compelling script to deliver your message.

    Hi,

I did do a search... But I wanted to know specifically about the diet industry. If you have experience in selling diet and weight loss products. Do copywriters charge the same for providing script?

    Thanks

    Hi there Rem,

In my experience, videos in the diet industry do very well. As for the price of a video script versus a sales letter, I would say expect them to be about the same price.

Generally, you're paying for the research and the careful psychological leading your copywriter will be constructing with words. Whether it's written or spoken, it's going to take a lot of effort and thought to create it.

Videos seem to be the way it's going. But you can't beat a good copywriter. But good copywriters aren't cheap

Does it have to be one or the other?

My main problem with video is I can't skim it. Lots of us skim sales letters to see if something catches our interest enough to give it a full reading, or to devote the time it takes to watch a video.

If all you have is the video and your prospect is in skimming mode she will just click away. Also keep in mind that if your prospect is at work, she may not be able to watch your video until she get's home...she clicks away...comes across another product...and forgets all about you.

You need a sales letter that is strong enough to make the sale, or at least generate enough interest to get them to watch the video.

Your video needs to be strong enough to make the sale on its own.

    FatBurningFurnace.com killed it with video.

Of course, if you want Vin to write a page for you, it's going to cost you a LOT of cash.

You need a copywriter either way.

If you want to sell, you need someone who understands sales to provide all of the words you'll be using - and that goes for a written page or a video.

Which do you think will be most effective in the diet industry?
Check out the top 20 products in the dieting area of clickbank. Do you see a recurring theme? Almost all of them use video sales letters.

The Video sales letter is more effective man.
It creates some kind of bond with your client.
one would rather sit back with coffee and view a video than scrolling the bar reading text
