[SQUEEZE PAGE REVIEW] Please advise me on ~25% converting squeeze page

Hi fellow Warriors!

I need a bit of help in increasing the conversion rate of my squeeze page.

It is a non-conventional squeeze page, but the conversion rate is going down gradually, from 40% to 25% in 2 weeks.

The Opt-In reason is getting passwords for 10 FREE downloads.

At the top of the page I've posted anchor links to individual products.

I've provided anchor links to the Opt-In form after each product's title and at the top.

Please take a look and post your feedback/criticism/advice.

Any help is much appreciated.

    Just my thought.
1.Using a static HTML page I can't update the products quite as much easily/quickly.

2.The width I had set was 900px, which I have now changed to 800px. I'd set it to 900px assuming that most internet users would have a resolution of 1024x. Could you please check whether the horizontal scroll is gone now?

Remove the word "Pay" in headline. That's a no no word right there. Here are a few top of my head no no words:

deal, cost, pay, contract, sign, try, worry, loss, lose, hurt, buy, death, bad, sell, sold, price, decision, hard, difficult, obligation, liable, fail, liability, failure.

      Hi indihow,

You've obviously worked hard on this. But the sad fact is the most effective squeeze pages are those where the whole offer is visible without having to scroll (i.e. everything is 'above the fold').

Here's an example of what I mean ...

So you could drop the 'SEO FREEBIES' in 72 pt and use 'Get all essential SEO stuff FREE!' as your headline. You could improve that with 'Get all this essential SEO stuff FREE!'

Then simply use the bullet points on their own.

You should also then have room for a web form and a short testimonial, as you see in the above screen shot. This layout has been tried and tested - and it works!

Also, you need to focus the prospect's attention on a single choice: either opt in or click away. So you should not have any links taking them away from the squeeze page.

      Warmest regards,

      Paul

If you want to stack the copywriting deck in your favor with tricks and hacks producing winners like: "$20K in three days" "650 sold" "30% conversion", then you might like to know I'm retiring and will spill the beans to two people. More info here.

        Thanks a lot Paul!

I too had a feeling the page had become a bit too long. But for SEO purpose I do need to include adequate text content too!

Should I keep the text below the fold and the subscription form beside the bullets?

          Hi indihow,

          Glad you like my suggestions.

Yes, I suppose you could put all the elements I've described above the fold and then leave some more text below for SEO purposes, if you want.

However, I suggest you ruthlessly edit the surplus text (you generally only need about 600 words to help with SEO) and remove all links that would distract prospects from what you want them to do.

Personally, I would not have anything below the fold and attract pre-sold traffic via articles and videos.

          Warmest regards,

          Paul

Thanks again. Right now I'm ranking #1 on Yahoo and Bing for : seo freebies
So I guess I'll keep the content. But will definitely create a new page with the changes you advise.

"Awesomely stupid," ah what a magic web you weave with words. I've been in Boston advertising agencies for decades and have yet to hear of you, Ross. Judging from those persuave copy skills, you're one of our hidden treasures.

Your Call to Action is weak.

Tell them exactly what you want them to do next, eg.: "To get all 20 of the SEO goodies worth $200, fill in your real email address below"

              or some such.

              More disturbing though...

You're targeting seekers of "freebie SEO" because... Why???

Someone finding you on "free" anything is not really a good prospect for selling to in the future. Begin as you mean to proceed. Attract people who are already willing to buy your stuff, and who are willing to try you out for a freebie.

              Very different kind of prospect.

I'm not even going to comment on your layout, because I hate it. Sorry.

Oh mate ...you make me laugh so hard...if you've truly been "in Boston advertising agencies for decades" they must be 1/ totally hopeless or 2/ you're just winging it ...because Pal...really...you have no idea...no idea at all...not a bloody clue. Stop now before you embarrass yourself any further.

"Decades" - like 20/30/40 years? Wow. And you don't know this stuff?

"Who's John Carlton?" Yes indeed...who exactly is John Carlton? "John Carlton...come on down son...there's an idiot here who's never heard of you...you must be doing something wrong"

          BTW its "persuasive".

Thanks for the laugh "Studioprod" - whoever you are. I feel your pain.

Amazing how easy it is to stay in business when you're not bogged down with silly things like actually improving your client's bottom line.

          I kid...

Seriously though, I can't imagine you're in a DR agency. They'd tear you alive with that kind of attitude.

Framing. You need some kind of graphic framing around your content.

Buttons. Never underline anything but links or people won't click anything underlined, and people will click on buttons ten times faster than they'll click on text links.

    And blogspot? Dude.

indihow: I am new to online marketing, but even I think your page is bad. It is not very appealing visually and so much so, that I don't want to take the time to read it.

For your bulleted list, don't keep everything caps, too hard to read and nothing stands out.

Use a power word in your header. I shouldn't be giving advice, but . . .take a look at my page in my signature. I think it is a lot better, although I may be biased.

Actually, I take that back. I can TAKE blog spot seriously. Just NOT your offer.

make your bullet points sound absolutely ridiculous, like almost unbelievable but still possible.

For example: A simple little-known on-site SEO trick that gets you on the first page of google, literally overnight!

      • One concept to test: People Want Results, Not Ideas or Tools

Now the top headline promises a result but where I think this could be improved is by including a simple line of text after the description of what you're offering that says... so that and then list a specific, concrete, emotional, benefit that's connected to a result.

The example I love is "Super Quick Trim Formula: Lose 15 pounds of belly fat in 90 days so that you can fit into your skinny jeans."

I know you want to keep everything above the fold and if you really focus in, you can come up with your own specific, concrete, emotional, benefit that's connected to the result, one liner for each of those freebies.

In my business, just making this change radically increased our sales. Try it and see what happens.

I have gone to the first page overnight with this site too, to #7 even on Google and am still at #1 on Yahoo and Bing.

But the problem is that as soon as I removed the text from the site, my SER has gone way down!

This was recomendation I saw on another page for another user who had a 1997 ish looking squeeze page, that he couldn't get affiliates to work with.

You could edit these, they're free... MiniSiteGallery.com » Free Mini-Site Templates & Design

And for that "sexy" Kajabi style feel, there's OptimizePress - Internet Marketing Wordpress Theme.

    Hope that helps,

        Hi fellows!

You've been really helpful so far.

This is the latest version of my squeeze page.

        Please give me your inputs.

    Hey Samir,

I see that you have implemented all the things that your fellow warriors have pointed out. Though everything has improved, here are some things I recommend (I will be harsh but forgive me).

    1. The offer is weak

Even if I am a newbie at SEO, I will not sign up just to get access to free tools or information I can get elsewhere. But while some of the things in the package have some value, the mere 'packaging' of everything devalues them. Honestly, you can get more opt-ins with this ebook - 5 Ways To Make Money Online Using Free PLR Articles - than packaging it into this set.

Also, the offer does not seem to deliver the promise. In what way can these products help people reach the front of the search engines?

    2. Know your market

Do you know what type of subscriber do you like to get? Or is it a general newbie Internet marketer? Well, if you don't narrow down your market and getting them is a problem for you, then you should just forget about selling to them. Choose your market well. As I've said earlier, a single freebie that offers a solution to a particular problem of a particular segment of the market is better than throwing lots of darts without hitting the bullseye. I hope you are getting what I am saying here. I'm not really a fan of product packages.

    3. It is all about the benefits

Reaching the front of the search engine is not a benefit. It is simply a means to reach a benefit. Having lots of money is a benefit. Having the freedom to do what you want is a benefit. Making passive income without lifting a finger or spending so much money is a benefit. These are the reasons why people build websites, backlinks and do SEO. focus on these instead.

    4. Have a more professional-looking template.

The look can improve. Make it more professional so people will take your offer more seriously. No one wants to receive emails from someone who looks like they don't know what they are doing.

I believe that you can easily download professional squeeze page templates here in the warriorforums. If you can't find them simply type 'site:warriorforum.com free squeeze page template' in Google. You will see all the offers posted by warriors and you can use those templates to your benefit. If you need to edit and don't know how to code, you can use PageBreeze. Search it, it's free.

That's it for now. Hope I have managed to help.

      Hi Aira!

      Thanks for the feedback.

I really appreciate it, and will carry out the changes.

Halfway through the process of getting people to opt-in I realized the point #1. I guess it's still not late to split the package.

#3 was actually my concern, but on the suggestion of a few Warriors I decided to extrapolate the claims.

And this was actually my first list building experiment, and despite so many improvements being possible, I've managed to get opt-ins @ 3-4/day for 2 weeks in a row.

I'm really grateful for all your support. I think I have come a long way in IM since joining Warrior Forum on November 28th.

        Glad to do it Samir.

Good luck. Always remember that IM is always a journey of continuous learning.

        All the best.

I believe that there are Wordpress sales page templates that you can use for your squeeze page. But if you are willing to go the paid route and you are lazy like me. Then you will like WP Sales Engine created by a warrior here:

      Funnny you should say that...

      1. Buy OptimisePress
      2. Make a camtasia video of you going through all the resources they'll be getting, making sure you don't give away enough info so they can find them without opting in.
      3. Make a sexy squeeze page like my free gift page.
      4. Most importantly, test the new page against the old one (OptimisePress I don't think has a testing capability so use website optimiser or something)
      5. Let me know how you go

OMG...All these lovely suggestions to a dude that can't spring for a domain and hosting account!

      Are you serious?

Blogspot is good for some quick adsense money or for a redirect to an actual offer.

      Seriously, before you make any adjustments from here on out;
1.) Godaddy or Namecheap (buy a domain)
      2.) Hostgator (get a host)

Look at some other landing pages that you know are converting well. Use them as swipe files to get going!

      Peace,
      O

As I've mentioned before, this was just a test about conversion. I perhaps won't even try to sell anything to this list.

Given it was my first list building exercise, I think I've achieved what I started out to do. Now I can apply all that knowledge while creating a proper squeeze page!

And I had several domains and multiple hosting accounts, but none was related to SEO, so just chose a blogspot one.

        Thanks for the input.

Really helps if you arnt a designer or programmer, can have a landing page up within 10minutes!
I believe so too, but the problem is that for other layouts the visitor won't know what to do.

So, if you have a box for email submission and no other links, it has to be a squeeze page!

        ...
Where on earth did you get this idea? That's the whole point of good web design: it guides the visitor where YOU want them to go.

Seriously, I don't know where you're planning to get your visitors from, but if it's anywhere in the world that has had Internet access for 60 days or more, that page design is a joke.

Look at briancassienga's squeeze - replace the video with text, even - and you can see how retarded your existing design is. It's like looking at a Stone Age tablet and an iMac.

Or look at any recent IM launch. Do you see ANYONE using a landing page that looks remotely like what you have?

Yes, copy is important. But we are visual creatures, on the whole. You are targeting COLD traffic. The first thing that's going to hit them is the design. A design so outdated, so unappealing, so NOT credible, is going to make people click away long before they bother to read a single word.

You're not selling to cave dwellers. You're selling to people who have electricity, and running water, and cell phones, and all the conveniences of the Internet Age. (And even though you're giving stuff away, you still have to "sell" them on signing up.) So, fergawdsake, don't throw up some mess that seems to assume your prospects are still making their own candles from beef tallow.

If you're using this project as a learning experience, fine. Then LEARN. You haven't really changed anything from the original. I expected to see something radically different from the original post.

Change color of "Email ID" from red to green or some other color.
Red color normally indicate "stop" like red button in cell phone...
    Signature
Landing page design focus to improve Inquiry or Sales.

The typography needs some work man... Try using fonts like IMPACT or Tahoma for the headlines. Also never use white against yellow background. Its a blinding combination.
